Great product. Looks fantastic on bike. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the fender rail. All welds were good and chrome was perfect. Fit perfect on my Kawasaki VN900D. It was a little tricky to install by myself but got it done. I attached the 2 bolts to the left side first, but not tight, looking at bike from front, then worked on the right. Its a tight squeeze getting your hand behind the brake disc and under fender to attach those bolts but by having the other side bolted first it helps to line up the disc side.
I bought this for my husbands Yamaha Vstar 1300 touring 2007. Our son put it on in about 20 min.. It really looks great. Its a great look on this bike. My husband is so, proud of the way his bike is starting to look. Its a black bike, so the chrome is really making it stand out.. Thanks to Dennis Kirk, the low prices let me continue to buy for my Husbands bike, and who know maybe I'll save enough to do mine>>> HAHA But, I would recommend this product to everyone. We didn't have to use any of the bolts that came with it. All bolt on bike worked for this application ...... Thank You
My bike is an '09 Vulcan 1700 Classic LT. I bought this fender rail for a 900 Vulcan knowing I would most likely have to modify it to make it fit. I called every major motorcycle parts and accessories supplier imaginable and they all told me that an after market fender rail for the 1700 Vulcan line does not exist. I checked the specs on the 900 Vulcan and saw that it uses the same size front tire as the 1700. I figured the same size tire should use the same size fender. I was prepared to cut, weld, drill, and bend or fabricate special brackets to make it fit. As it turned out, no modifications were necessary. The fender rail for the 900 fit the 1700 perfectly. All the holes lined up and all the spacing and angles were perfect. It fit like it was made for my bike. It wasn't easy to install by myself. I could have used another pair of hands. This is a little secret Kawasaki doesn't want you to know. The genuine Kawasaki fender rail is outrageously priced and costs three times as much. I went out on a limb and took a chance and it paid off. All along I had a hunch that the fender rail for the 900 would fit the 1700 but everybody told me it wouldn't. Believe me, It DOES fit! The bolts that came supplied with the fender rail were actually shorter than the original bolts in the bike. I used the origial bolts and they worked fine. I can't help but wonder if the fender rail for the Vulcan 2000 would also fit. There must be a slight difference due to the different part number. If you're waiting for someone to come out with an after market fender rail for the Vulcan 1700 line, wait no longer. This Show Chrome fender rail is currently installed on my 1700 and it looks great at a fraction of the cost of what Kawasaki is selling theirs for. Show Chrome part number 71-317. This is not the same number Dennis Kirk uses for a stock number.
just received this for a birthday present. Install was very easy, I then noticed every single weld had peices of missing chrome, almost like it was flaking off or didn't quite get a good coat.... these places are really skimping on quality.
