Amazing grip
I bought this tire by a review for my 08 BMW k1200lt, I am so glad I went with it! Road snakes, wet roads... it does great. I currently have about 3k miles on it. I will only see about 5 to 6K miles which I am ok with because of how well it grips. I will likely have to replace it every year, but I want grip, so I can live with that.

Shinko 777 Rear Tire
Bought for 2008 Harley Road King. This is my 2nd rear Shinko tire and I have to say that this grips on dry and wet pavement. I get approximately 7,500 miles on the rear. Stock tire is MU85B-16 ( 140/80-16 ) and I ended up going up a size to a 150/80-16 tire. Rear tire fits good, No trimming on the belt guard.

Great Tires for the price!
I purchased a set of these tires and man did they make a difference on my bike. First the tires are very sticky and they grip to the road very well and second they made my bike run smoother on bumps, my bike doesn't hit hard like it use to with the original Dunlops that came with the bike. I would buy again.

Why would a mechanic say I need a tube for a tubeless tire? He said there's no way to seal the tire to the rim. That doesn't make sense to me.

BEST ANSWER: Most likely he believes your rim is spoked. For most spoked rims, the tire (even if tubeless) will require a tube. Otherwise, air leaks where the spokes attach to the rim. Tubeless tires can only be used as tubeless on solid wheels. While the bead will seat on a spoked wheel, he is correct stating the tire will not "seal". Some people seal the rim with sealant where the spokes mount on the inside the rim, but this practice is highly debated. Personally I think it's a safety issue to do that. If you have a solid wheel, tubeless tires should mount and seal just fine.
