Like this bag a lot - thoughtful design and lots of pockets. The quality seems good, but I haven't had it out yet, so I'll go with 4 stars for now.
The size looks good for a weekend trip, and like the rain cover in the top pocket.
When I got it, I wasn't so crazy about the studs, and I still may swap for a plain bag - but that's just personal taste and doesn't reflect quality at all. And it's growing on me - I may just keep it. What I really like is how easy Dennis Kirk makes it if I do want to change out - done it before with DK, and it's always easy.
Dennis Kirk was super fast to ship and is always great to buy from. The price is almost always the best on the internet and the website is so well done that shopping is easy... my 'go-to' site for bike parts.
Like most all saddleman luggage it's quality and finish is excellent. I just wish the ad abd pictures would have given a better idea of just large the bag really is. It stated it would hold a full face helmet so I got a box froma full face helmet adn put it on the back seat of the bike in front of the backrest ... seemed okay. With the external pockets on this bag it is quite a bit bigger than expected.
I purchased this bag as apposed to others for it's ability to act as a back rest. It was very easy to mount to the seat and with an empty bag provided the support I needed for long rides. The bag has plenty of room to carry clothing for 3 to 5 days and because it can be mounted to the seat I can still add another bag on the luggage rack with a sissy bar attachment. This is a great bag, my only complaint, if any, is it is a little to big and pushes me forward an inch or 2. I had to adjust my highway pegs to compensate. I may have been better off with the 1800 which is 2 inches smaller in the depth.
