Bag is very well made has a mesh compartment on the inside attached to the center lid - great for things like your night glasses and small stuff that you may need to grab quick, bag is lined and is easy to expand. Bag will hold it shape.
The only down fall is I wish it had a large velcro strap that would wrap around the sissy bar. If this was on the bag it would be a 5 stars. Their are straps for securing it to your bike that will work fine.
Nelson Rigg bag has a velcro strap but the overall quality does not compare to the saddleman bag.
This Saddlemen roll bag is roomy & expandable and unlike others, it keeps it's shape even when empty. I used it mounted to my luggage rack over my rear fender. It also can be mounted to a sissybar. The zippers have openings in the pulls so you can add a small lock for security. This roll bag is very well made and has the best price of any on the market.
Spent alot of time researching saddle bags for my Triumph and ended up buying this Saddlemen roll bag. Primarily used for a day bag, to carry lunches to work, a few groceries home etc. Very good quality material and workmanship. Lots of straps, D-rings and some velcro to attach to any bike. Another nice feature is the expandability to 20 inches, and the zippers can lock to one of the D-rings for a more secure closure. Also the rain cover is ideal for our wet coast weather here.
First time buyer with DK and am disappointed with their S-L-O-W -- D-E-L-I-V-E-R-Y, this was one of those nightmare orders !! Hopefully this doesn't happen all the time with DK ! It took 17 days from ordering on line to finally receive it. First they had it in stock, then they didn't, then they did, then they didn't. Each time I called for an update, their inventory and delivery dates were different. Finally got the product and am very pleased with the purchase. Would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a good mid sized day tripper for any bike, not just HD.
This is a really nice fitting roll bag,and it looks very nice and fits perfect on my luggage rack. Its big enough to carry my Jacket and sweatshirt and more.Perfect . It is very easy to put on and take off if you want to take it off the bike fast.Very simple and really a good deal too.
This bag is exactly the size and shape I needed and offers so many different ways to mount that it will be useful for applications I had not even considered. I do wish the bottom was a little stiffer but that doesn't detract enough to rate less than 5 stars.
Very good bag for the price. The straps included really didn't work. I don't have a sissy bar only a luggage rack. Went to Wal-Mart and bought a tube of 20 miniature bungee cords and used 2 on the front..2 on the back An 2 on the 2 sides. Works well.
Made my first trip with the bag this past weekend. I hadn't bought a luggage rack for this bike yet, so had to improvise tying it down. It worked out great though...tied down to the side rails on the fender, and stayed put quite well. The bag itself seems pretty durable. I was able to fit a pair of jeans, 2 shirts, 2 changes of under garments, some slip-on Vans shoes, and a small toiletry bag in the main compartment. In one side/end pocket I fit a camera, battery charger, bottle of sunscreen, a couple bandanas, etc. small stuff. Other side/end pocket carried extra tie down straps, bungees, etc. So, I was pleased with the amount of stuff I was able to fit in it...although I just about pushed it to it's max. Looks great on my bike, and traveled well. That's all I was looking for with this bag!
this is my third saddleman product, and i love all three. this is a well made bag, cool looks, and attaches cleanly to my back seat. i have the saddleman tattoo profiler seat, and its only 7 inches wide, and this bag fits securely on there, with the straps provided. the ends extend a couple inches both ways, for a bit more room too. i was tired of using bungee cords and cargo nets to secure my day bags. this and my saddleman 3400 seat bag, solved that problem.
This bag is a much better value than others I've tried. It's expandable and comes with a rain cover. The mounting system is flexble and sturdy. The main compartment opening could be a bit larger. This is a well built bag, which should last for years to come.
Bought this for the luggage rack. I drilled two holes in bottom and ran plastic bolts, washers and nuts though a plastic cross plate under the rack so it can be removed if needed, but does not need the mounting straps when mounted on for a cleaner look. WORKS GREAT for me.
"versatile mounting system" is not very accurate. You get a velcro strap attached to the bag that will wrap around a sissy bar and four nylon webbing adjustable straps with end-clips. "easy" - not for attaching to a seat on a Vulcan 1700 Classic. No sissy bar, no luggage rack - just the seat. But I did it. Lots of extra strap with nowhere to put it except stuff it under the seat. Rode 22 miles in to work this morning with the setup and it didn't fall off, but it does shift around a bit. No getting around that with the way its set up. Stuffed my rain gear, three pairs of gloves, neck gaiter in the main compartment - rain cover reduces capacity a bit. Can use the d-rings to attach a stretchy cargo net to expand carry capacity.
Super-high quality item. Unimagineable at this price. This is my first experience with Saddlemen gear and I must say that I am impressed. I will most certainly be buying more of their junk in the near future.
I shopped around, tried others but for the price and quality this one was everything it claimed for my needs. Nothing is Perfect or one size fits all , Still I would recommend this for a close second . Don't care for buggy cords, I mounted mine solid to the rack.
You can't beat this bag for the price. It gets the job done. I use this as a gym bag mostly. It stays put on the bike despite my skepticism about the Velcro strap. I can barely fit my fingers in the carrying handle but I can live with that. the side pockets don't have a lot of room but overall this bag gets the job done for the best price anywhere I have seen. Dennis Kirk rocks!
The bag is really confusing regarding how to attach... just a bunch of straps and no real directions. They should take a hint from Kuryakyn... they have on YouTube Videos of how to use their products.. I have a Kury GranTour bag and was able to see a video of all available attachment options, Very helpful! Overall NICE Bag...
Purchased this originally in 2012. Works great, prevents me from needing to take a backpack to carry items, costs less than other luggage, fits my low sissy-bar, and detaches easily. Watched a guy who had same bag go down on the interstate and the bag didn't lose any of its contents and stayed on the luggage rack.
Had to replace it after 2 years as it doesn't seem to like the constant southwest sunshine. Turned a greenish-grey, nylon strap on the opening deteriorated and ripped off like a paper towel, material started to fray and develop seam rips, and as with most luggage, the plastic deformed and the bag sags. Still, it worked great for 2 years and I don't see anything I like better for about the same price. Would probably last longer in a cloudier area or if the bike doesn't see as many miles.
While this bag didn't work for me due to fitment issues, the amount of exposed zippers that can scratch up chrome and paint make this unit not a first choice, unless chrome and paint don't matter to your machine.
Perfect for day runs even an overnighter, will strap to anything, just takes a little figuring out. Plenty of straps no need for bungees. Different compartments make organizing easy. Keeps it's shape even empty. Looks good on bike. Great bag for the price. Good quality.
