Awesome Seat For The Money
I put this seat on my 1975 GL1000 and love it. Style is right for a bike thats fully dressed, I wouldn't have bought it for a stock stripped down bike. The stock flat seat looks good on those. I was suprised how comfortable it is for a new seat and can't wait until its broke in. Any true motorcycle rider knows about the seat breaking in process, Put Miles On It. As far as fit goes I bolted on my stock hardware and put it on the bike with no issues. You can't beat this price for a new seat.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Fits with a little work
Seat looks great and fits the contours of the bike very well. Sitting in the garage it is much more cofortable for both driver and passenger. I cant wait to see how it does on a long trip. Had to shim and bend(tweak) the original brackets once mounted on new seat pan. Had to end up using a die grinder to slot the holes to make bracket on latch side line up with lock. Also had to drill three holes in pan for original suction cups to transfer and clearance for fender bolt.I would recommend this item to a friend.
A Stool of a Seat
The seat looks good, that is about it. The Honda seat latch does not fit the fastener spacing installed in the seat pan. You will have to modify your Honda seat latch to make it work. The seat is very thick and riding the bike feels like you are riding a bar stool. Manufacturer's instruction sheet refers to the fact the seat has a break-in period. Comfort is not that good for either the rider or passenger. If you have a good aftermarket seat now that needs recovering, I recommend repairing the old seat. Other than stock, this is about the only new seat for the old 750's you will find anywhere.I wouldn't recommend this item to a friend.
