This spring we replaced our trusty 7 year old saddlemen tour pack with a new deluxe Saddlemen's #S3200DE Sissy Bar Bag. Our old pack had serviced us well over those years, taking all kinds of travel abuse. We felt strongly that a new bag from Saddlemens would give us another seven years of great packing. I loved the new expandable suitcase design, the look was classic. It was a breeze to pack and mount. First trip went well.
As we were getting ready for our second use of the year, I noticed that the twill trim on the top of the bag was frayed.....nothing major, but a little dismayed all the same. Later, while getting ready to go home from the trip, we began having problems with the lower front zipper on the detachable pack. The small nylon zipper would come apart on the top if you so much as touched the bag! We finally had to bungee it on to make it home.
Needless to say, we are not impressed. Sadly, the quality and value of Saddlemen has really gone down since our first purchase.
the bag fit great and had plenty of storage the only draw back to the bag was it did not have any handles for taking the bag of the bike or for packing it in to the hotel or home when it was packed other than that it really was a great purchase so it someone ever asked if i would buy it again i would.
I bought this sissy bar bag for a 1,600 mile trip I just took from California to Arizona and back. This bag was awesome. I was easily able to fit 5 days worth of clothes in this bag and still had a ton of room to spare. It definetly can fit way more than any set of saddlebags I've seen and is easy to remove and install. Highly recommend this product to anyone who likes to make long trips on their bike.
I have used this bag for 3 years. During this time I have taken several week long trips and have used it for short trips in my car. It has held up well until this year when one of the double zippers on the main compartment stopped closing when I used it to shut the bag. I am considering buying another one as a replacement. I really like the way the interior is set up like a normal suitcase. I also like the way it expands, I can start with it in the normal configuration and expand on the return trip to accommodate purchases that I've made.
Bought this bag took it on a 9 day 1900mi trip, it preformed flawless. Taking on and off was quick and easy. It expanded to take all the stuff we bought on the trip. Used one of the zip off bags for personnel hygein stuff, the other for maps and other stuff you might want qiuck access to. The main compartment was plenty big enough for change of clothes for my wife and I, we did a wash after 4 days. Best price on the bag is right here don't waste your time looking.
This bag is great. Fits great on a medium night sissy bar and goes on easy. The only thing it is missing is availability in a studded version. I highly reccamend this to anyone takind a long trip or just a weekender.
This is one of the best bags I've every had. Plenty of room for a four day trip with the little lady in tow, and you know what that means!! Packin the whole house. The only drawback with this bag is gettin it adjusted to your sissybar. Thats takes a little while, but when thats a done deal, your set. On one ride we ran into a heavy rain and didnt stop for several mile and even without the rain cover over the bag everything was dry and good to go. I would recommend this bag to anyone. Good price and a quality piece of traveling luggage.
This bag is excellent. I have a tour pack but this has twice as much room and is easy on and off. Lots of straps for any configuration and the built in rain cover is a plus. There is so much room I couldn't even fill every pouch. With the tour pack I was always strapping an extra bag on the top.
