I have nothing to compare these to, as I've only purchased these for the build I'm currently doing and it isn't finished. Seems like a very sturdy product and was easily applied. Price was steep but the craftsmanship and functionality was what i was looking for...out
I have a 2006 vstrom 650 and my first trip over a hundred miles felt like I had a knife in between my shoulder blades and my spine. I googled my issue and everybody seems to recommend these. I just installed them today...Problem Solved! No more upper back pain because I am sitting upright more. I am 5'11" 190 lbs if this helps anything. As for the install, it is pretty easy you will need to move some cables around. The front brake line mount by the forks needed to be moved as well as the left hand side electrical will need to be not connected to the handlebar. I ground off a 6 mm allen wrench to tighten up the bar clamps to new risors. It is a very tight fit.but works well. If your upper or lower back is sore this will fix it. -nate
These are excellent quality risers. My only issue with these is installation. You do not have enough room with the 2" rise to put them in place and put any type or shape of allen wrench on the bolts. You have to either cut/grind down a wrench or tighten bolts on one side (closest to tank) push the risers into final position and then tighten the other side. In either scenario there is no way to use a torque wrench as the provided instructions explain. That said I am happy with the final product.
