I live in Daytona beach florida, the Cycle capitol of the country and I use one of the best mechanics in this city and he told me spend the couple dollars extra and buy the better Rick's Stator.. I did and it test out at a higher Amperage chargel, my regulator doesnt even get super heated anymore!! If you need a Stator ... Buy This Brand !!
I purchased a stator for my 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit. It arrived within 3 days of my order, compared to other sites that quoted 5-7 business days for delivery. It worked great( after I removed a small metal bracket on the stator).
I have ordered many items, many times from Dennis Kirk. Once again they came thru as always. The outer stator fit just like OEM but looks heavier duty than OEM. Once the bike was put back together, the stator was working perfectly.
I installed this product quickly and easily along with the appropriate regulator. It made a world of difference! I sure am glad I purchased from Dennis Kirk. Parts were received in 3 days and were installed the next day. Thanks DK!
Good price and quality, all went well....REMEMBER to buy a stator cover gasket and starter cover gasket, I used silicone sealant but created a problem, must be a clearance problem because motor would not turn over unless I loosened starter cover a little bit, so,,orderd stator cover and starter cover gasket and did it again,,,was ok then......
I bought this for my 2002 CBR600F4i and it fit perfectly. I replaced a cheap version that the previous ownder had JUST bought and installed. It lasted only 2 weeks. Now, granted I only put this part on last night so time will tell, but just the look and feel of the part was superior to the defective one I took out. Highly recomended!
1/2 price of an OEM stator, dosen't have the complete harness but gives instructions on where to splice harness. Came with heat shrink and solder tubes but I couldn't make wires fit in tube so I had my own splice ends to use, also couldn't use clamp for harness that attached to stator that was on OEM stator, after install all worked great, charges 14.2 v at idle and the whine was gone. Apparently thats how they fail. Recieved part in three days. Wished DK had gasket available without having to get complete set, Took a week to get gasket from Motosport.
We installed the matching rotor, stator, brushes and rectifier in out 82 Honda cb900 It was recommended to us to replace all components with the age of the bike and it not charging properly. After replacing all components with parts from Dennis Kirk which were made by ricks electric the bike would still not charge. It turned out to be a bad out of the box rectifier because when we plugged the old one back in it charged the system just fine. 6 months down the road and not too many miles the contact surface on the rotor flaked apart and ate the brushes which destroyed the rest of the charging system and required the entire charging system be replaced once again to the tune of $450(ish) So I'm not very happy with the quality of some of these aftermarket parts. Other than that the stator never gave us issues besides a very snug fit.
Shipping was fast and packaged good. When installing, a hole to screw in a bracket on the stator was threaded on the wrong side so i had to tap it. Other than that great product. Old stator measured 12.1V and new 14.3V.
This stator works as designed. For a fraction of oem. I will say that it does not appear to be better like the description says. When I pull the brake lever, my bolts drop immensely. I have a bolt meter on the bike. My oem before it went out did exactly the same output in amps. But I'm satisfied and am happy with purchase.
Don't know if its me or the bike?? This will be the 3rd stator. First one lasted 2 years? 2nd one lasted 2 MO. Took trip to TX. from PA. Got back from trip & a week later & its just about charging, driving around durring the day with the parking light fuse pull. I replace the reg. with the first stator, stator is all burn up when I took it out.. Just wish I didn't have to pull the engine out to replace it...
I ordered this for a 1996 Yamaha Virago. When it arrived it only worked on two phases therefore it would not charge the battery. The wire placement on the stator was not in the right place compared to the OEM one. No terminals on neutral safety switch wire. Picture is misleading.
