Stripped bolt holes on finished product

So this is a fairly expensive product and you would expect everything to work seamlessly with assembly into the bike. But to my surprise i found every bolt hole on the stator ring to be stripped out. I'm not sure how this happened whether this was a returned product from another costumer that abused it before returning it to Dennis Kirk or if this came from Risk's (the manufacturer) like this. I contacted Risk's and was told they do not use replacement core rings for their stators so assuming it was a bad core does not seem correct. Needless to say instead of going through the hassle of sending the product back I purchased an additional helicoil kit for $30 to remedy the problem. Additionally it would make sense for Risk's to realize that the supplied length of wires will likely have to be cut to size with installation and leaving the wire connectors off the wires would simplify this problem. In the end I did install the kit and it has resolved my electrical issues but overall was a little more trouble than expect.

Good Deal for the Old Bike

I installed this system on a 1973 Honda CB350K, and it does wake up the charging system. Before doing this installation and running with the lights on during the day, I always had to plug in the battery charger. Since I'm on my third battery in two years, I bit the bullet and bought this charging system. Remember when you remove the side covers, you will be dealing with two gaskets. On removal of the stator, the neutral switch wiring will need to be removed from the old stator wiring. You will be removing the neutral switch to get the stator wiring out which makes it a good time to clean it. On the installation of the stator, the neutral switch gets installed and the motor gets buttoned up. Everything else is straight forward, I did have to long gate the hole on the supplied regulator because I wanted to mount it where the old regulator was. I did remove the air cleaners , battery and then loosened the battery tray to make the wiring job and regulator install easier. I fired the motorcycle up and notice the neutral light was brighter than before. Turning the lights on, they were brighter too. I took the bike for a short ride "Michigan and in January" all works great!

Instant Fix

Was having perpetual charging problems with my CB350, all of which were resolved immediately upon installing this kit. Only downside is that it eliminates Neutral Switch Light (you just have to connect it separately). So far, an excellent product.

Ricks Motorsport Stator

What a differance. Before installing this stator the bike was draining the battery at idle and had 12 volts at high idle. Now it has 12.5 volts at idle and 14 volts at high idle. The light are much brighter and no more dead battery.
