What is the difference in the lbs ratings ?

BEST ANSWER: Not sure what you are asking. These springs are designed to offer better control and a smoother ride. Minor ripples, bumps and generally flat surface will give you the softer rate. This gives the rider a smoother ride. When a larger bump, ridge, pothole, or sudden braking is required, the higher spring rate offers a stiffer response. This gives the rider better control (to prevent pogo-ing).

The dual spring rate is 45 lbs in the beginning and 75 lb rate after the fork "dips" past a certain point. If you're asking what is the spring rate, it will take 45 lbs to compress the first part of the fork 1". Afterwards, it will take 75 lbs to compress the remaining length 1". What actually happens when these springs are installed, is a progressive rate i.e.these weights allow multiple spring rates.
