Won't fit '09 Kymco People 150 and NO INSTRUCTIONS
Ordered both the Prima 17" and Prima Medium (13") windshields. Out of the box, they look like good quality shields/hardware. But, NO INSTRUCTIONS at all for either windshield. Looking closely at the pictures from this and other sites, the install seems fairly simple - two brackets, each bolted to the mirror mount and turn signal mount.
But (again), neither bracket will align with its mounting points. After mounting both brackets in the threaded mirror holes, the right bracket is close, but the left misses by at least an inch. No problem I think - I'll just slightly rotate the mirror/switch housings and they will line up. WRONG! The housings and brake perches are pinned so they can't rotate. Also, the brackets are 3/8" chromed steel rod, so there's no "slightly bending" them to make them reach. If anyone has managed to make this work, I would love to know how.
"Prima" doesn't seem to have a web site nor any way to contact them for help/info and I've not been able to find any other info from several scooter forums. Should have known better than to buy these.
I bought this windshield for a 2007 Kymco People 150. The right side bracket fit with no problem, but the left side did not want to match up. I don't know if this is because of poor quality control or just because the same bracket is used on different models.
I ended up widening the U part of the bracket and bending the tab in a vise to get it to fit.
Once the brackets are on it takes two people to mount the windshield, one to hold the windshield and back of the mounts in place and one to put the front of the mounts on with the screws.
After it was installed I took it for a test ride in very windy conditions and it worked well. However the extra air being diverted over the top of the windshield did create more wind noise.
When I ride in colder weather my hands usually get cold faster than anything else. This windshield does a great job of blocking the wind from your hands, and that is the main reason I bought it.
Overall if you are not afraid to do a little tweaking to the bracket this is a good windshield for the price.
