Used this suit on a 3500 mile trip to the East Coast, hit alot of rain, stayed dry the whole trip, didn't sweat, held up good under the worst conditions, would highly recommend this suit for anyone. Excellent quality, nice look, good fit, YES, buy it.
Love this suit! It oozes quality everywhere! Features that you would expect from one of the best, (well probably is THE best), manufacturer of motorcycle covers in the world.
The only thing; order the next size up if your legs aren't 3/4 the size of everyone else that wears your size. The coat was fine, at size, to fit over my tourmaster coat, and had enough room for full motion. The pants wouldn't fit over my riding pants, but I just needed to stay dry. It was plenty warm, so I put them on over jeans. They felt a little snug but I actually thought they would be okay. I bent over, did a couple of squats and went for a ride. I should have made the squats a little lower! About 3 miles down the road I felt a breeze on my shin. They had pulled themselves and my jeans up over the top of my 13" army boots! I didn't use the heel straps for 2 reasons; my boots have a rounded sole at the heel so I didn't want to tear the strap, and I was pretty sure that they would make them too tight to be comfortable.
I am 6'2", 200lbs, 33in waist, 34in inseam. I normally wear a large (44-46 Long), but am returning it for an x-large. Sadly, I expect to be swimming in the x-large top. But, even if I am swimming in it......... I WON'T GET WET!!! Of that I am sure! Smokin' deal too!
The VTL700 rain suit is very well made and a quality product. The only issue I have is that it is slightly tight in the seat when riding. The waist size, leg length, chest size, etc. are all good otherwise.
I ordered this suit from the size chart and found it to be about 1 size too small. The unbelievable service I recieved from the Dennis Kirk people in exchanging for the next size up was truly above and beyond expectations, prompt, friendly. And quick return shipping. And yes it is a nice rainsuit too
Great product. I wear a large in everything, so I figured an XL would be adequate. Should have gotten an XXL. Quality is excellent. I rode through a full day of misty rain near the end of May with no leaks, and not too hot. Had my rainsuit from D.K. in 3 days. I buy a lot of stuff from D.K. and will continue to do so.
Based on their sizing chart, this suit runs one size small. I am 5'11", 185 lbs, average build, 32 inseam, and the XL fit me well. I'm glad I read the previous reviews before ordering.
The suit itself is much nicer than the 15 year old Field Sheer that it will replace. Although made similarly, it is much heavier material. Positives are the zippered vents under the arms and across the back, protected by rain flaps, and the elasticised waist band that has about 10" of stretch in it.
Negative is the oversize cuff on each sleeve. I'll need to add some more velcro to get it to close tightly so my gauntlet gloves can go over the top of the cuff.
The suit I received also has a backwards zipper. I don't know if that is how they are made, or if it is a factory mistake. Either way, it works fine, and has the "dual zipper" function, that allows you to release some zipper tension when sitting on the bike.
Great value for the money, especially when comparing to "genuine Harley orange" at the dealers !
