I can sit and flat foot the ground with my stock seat does the Mustang sit higher? I’m 5’6.
Randy S on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It shouldn't sit any higher, it will be firmer and as long as it's no wider, you shouldn't have a problem

What a difference
The stock seat on my 2004 Fat Boy was like sitting on concrete, shame on Harley for providing such a lousy seat. This Mustang seat is so much better, wider, softer, great for those long rides, and Dennis Kirk's price was so much better than any competitors.

Ugly and Comfortable.
It fits my night train perfectly. But it's Hideously ugly due to its massive size, but it's also very, very comfortable. I only plan on using it for all day long rides with a passenger.

Ride Comfort
We haven't rode on it yet, but the wife says it's a lot more comfortable just sitting on it and her legs are more parallel to the sit than with the stock seat. This alone should distribute the weight across her legs now and not just her bottom. I'll report back after this weekend trip for final rating. I rated the Fit a 3 stars because the rear bracket didn't sit flush on the rear fender; 1/2" gap with it just sitting on bike with the front seat mount in place. For this price it should fit like the stock straight out of the box. Even with pushing the rear seat down the screw wasn't threading onto the rear fender. So I installed a flat washer under the rear hole of the bracket to tilt the bracket about 1/8" away from rear of seat. This now reduced the gap between rear of seat and rear fender to 1/4", now allowing the screw to thread onto rear fender without force.

Big seat
I got this for my 2000 fatboy. Rode 600 miles on it. It is comfortable for most part. Did bother my thighs a little bit. Hopefully it gets better when broken in. My wife loved rear seat. Very comfortable for her. As far as looks on my bike, it is big. When by myself, I switch back to solo seat. If you have an oem seat add an inch to each side of rear seat and double the thickness for both front and rear seat. For comfort I recommend, but looks I don't.

This Seat Looked OK, But It Was Uncomfortable
After installing this Mustang Wide Vintage Seat on my 2005 Softail Standard, I rode on it for 20 miles, removed it and returned it credit.

This seat was surprisingly stiff, and it didn't soften throughout the entire ride. This seat was 1-½" higher than my previous seat. Instead of looking through my windshield, I was now looking over the top of it. Also, my feet were flat on the ground on the previous seat. When I stopped on this Wide Vintage Seat, I was on the tips of my toes. I could support my bike with my right foot, or my left foot, but not both feet at once.

Finally, Mustang built up the front end of the pillion (for back support?) I don't need / use back support, and the large vinyl lump forced me to swing wide and high to clear this seat mounting and un-mounting.
