This seat is much more comfortable than the stock seat on my 2009 FXDC. Much more comfortable for the passanger also. Could have gone with the wider one but this one fits and looks good without excess over the rear fender. Great value also. DK has the best prices.
The new bike is amazing, Stock seat is way cool and way uncomfortable!!! Had a mustang on my Stratoliner and it was great, so installed on Low Rider, it did change my riding position just a bit, I'm 5'-9", 190lbs, but the first ride, man that seat is comfy. I would go with the wide if you know you have a big but, not much room to wiggle on this seat, but even the bumps were absorbed better, great seat, great quality, get one....
I have this same style seat on my 2004 1200 Sportster Custom and am very happy with it, so I purchased the same model for my new 2013 FXDWG. Wow! Unbelievably comfortable!! I could only take a couple of hours or so with the stock seat. With the Mustang, I can go all day. It has a sharp rise at the end of the rider's seat, giving a few inches of support, which make all the difference. I haven't had a passenger yet, so no comments about the passenger position.
I got this seat for my Fat Bob so my wife would be happier on the back. Great fit. Looks great. Only used it a couple of times so far but I love it . It moved me forward a little and up a little from the stock seat. I returned the wide vintage seat as it was too wide in the front for my short legs. No hassle return thru DK and a speedy shipping of new seat.
I have tried three different seat manufacturers before purchasing the Mustang seat, and can tell you it was definitely worth the wait of trial and error on my part. I have back problems that severely limits my saddle time until I started using the Mustang. I was good for about an hour before the tail bone would feel like it's on fire, and now I can ride several hours without the pain and discomfort of the stock seat. Other seats caused my legs to spread too far for comfort, raised me higher then I wanted for my windshield and shortened the leg distance to the ground making it unsteady at stop lights. The Mustang seat feels as if it was made around my body and bike. The quality is second to none and looks as great as it feels. At 62 years old, I can once again ride my FXDC like I was 21 again. Great job Mustang. You have added years of riding time to my tired body.
I bought the Vintages seats mainly for my wife/passenger. I own a Harley Dyna and the Vintage passenger seat has about double the cushion especially toward the rear of motorcycle. My seat looks alot better but towards the rear of my seat the transition from the flat area to more vertical area is too abrupt so I feel a "ridge" along the back of my rear when I ride. Seat are well made and a breeze to install.
