tripper solo 08 nightster
Upgraded from stock for comfort mainly, although it does look much better on my nightster than I thought it would. Being winter now I can't comment on long trip comfort. I will comment on a fitment issue. The rear fuel tank mount on the 3.3 gal tank is curved. The metal tab on the seat is flat and about 6mm too wide. Not possible to get seat far enough into mounting point under tank. It needed to go about a half inch further in. I ground off 3mm on each side of mounting tab and had to make the tab rounded in order to get the rear seat bolt lined up. A square peg will fit into a round hole with a rotary tool. Not a major issue, but I did have to make it fit.

it was hard to pull the trigger, glad i did
compared to the stock seat, this seat moved me up by 1/2 inch and foward about a inch. i have been riding a 2 up, badlader and loved the seat postion, i wanted a solo to show of more rear fender but didnt want to change seat postion from the bad lander. the tripper matches it perfectly. the foam is softer then the stock, firmer then the badlander, seams mor like a memory foam. i have been on long rides and i feel fine afterwards. the stitching on the front seam to line up with the pinstripe on my tank on my nightster. install was easy, cause it dosnt use the stupid pin under the seat to attatch to the bike. i did have to loosen the bolt on the boottom of the tank and move the tank up 1/16 of a inch to slip the tab on the front of the seat in properly. buying it from dinnes kirk i save $35-$60 compared to other places.

Awesome Seat for my Forty Eight
I'm riding this seat on my Forty Eight and it as just awesome. You can't compare the comfort of the seat to the original seat! No sliding backwarts at all, feels like beeing glued on the seat.
Additionally the Seat looks pretty good, I've first been scared that it could look to fat for the aggressive and flat line of my forty eight. But I've no complaints at all. Just a super sweet seat.

Better Than Stock Seat
I installed this seat on my -07 Nightster. The seat does not fit without modifications. I chose to bend the corners down on the forward tab in order to make it go in under the tank.
The seat is wider in front than the stock seat and it is taller than the stock seat. If you have short legs, you might want to reconsider. However, I am a petite female with short in-seams and I can touch the ground with my toes. With the stock seat, I could touch the ground with the soles.
The Mustang seat eliminates some of the vibration from the bike, due to rubber feet under the seat. The stock seat is rigid mount and have no cushion.

Awesome seat!
Just got tripper solo in today. Installation was very easy. No mods needed. Fit was perfect. The seat raised me up a little and moved me further back which is exactly what I was wanting. Took the bike for a quick spin before the rain gets here and the ride was night and day different from the stock seat. Its gonna take some getting use to on the different seat position bUT it is well worth it.

Looks Sharp - Feels Good!
Lets face it, a lot about riding a Sportster is style. So, while the standard Mustang Vintage Touring seat is comfy on the tush, it isn't the most beautiful place to perch your butt. Enter the Tripper Solo...light years ahead of the stock saddle in terms of comfort and sharp sporty looks in the bargain!

The Tripper isn't quite as soft as the Vintage Touring, but its plenty comfortable for at least a tank of gas (which is about 100 miles on my bike.) Tripper seats me a little higher than the stock seat and a bit further back. It isn't quite as high up as the Vintage Touring, though. The Tripper seat may be a good option for folks who are just a little too short of inseam to comfortably use the V.T. but still want a more comfortable seat than stock.

My only real gripe with this seat is the material used for the cover. While it is thick, durable, and nicely made...the "synthetic leather" vinyl has a suede-like surface texture. This makes it hard to move position once you have planted your butt. I find it useful on longer rides to just change position every now and then. Its a little annoying, feeling glued in place, but the up-side is you aren't going to slide of the back when you crank the throttle!

All in all, a typical Mustang high-value product...well made, comfortable, good looking, and reasonably priced.

good fit
Price was cheapest I could find. Deffinetly looks way better then the stock sest. Seat feels great but my backside started to hurt sooner then the stock seat. I think that's caused by having the winter off of riding I havee a 2010 883 Iron

difficult on xl1200n
OK the pros;
1 it looks cool
2 a little more comfortable than stock seat on '11 XL 1200N
3 Quuality is good
Cons;
1Very tight fit on nightrster.Nice chrome mounting tab needs to be moved forward about half an inch to hit the hole on fender.This involves drilling out rivets and re drilling holes in new position WITHOUT SENDING DRILL BIT THROUGH SEAT COVER.You will need 3/16" rivets etc
2 as other reviewer says the color is not a gloss but a flat black
Overall a cool looking seat after modification installs like OEM seat

Not much different from stock
I bought this seat because my rear end hurt after 30 minutes with the stock solo seat. This seat didn't do any better for me. I am returning it for the 12 1/2 inch Vintage Solo. Aside from it not curing my aching butt, it is a nice looking seat. The profile is a little lower than the stock seat. It made me sit back further which wasn't especially helpful to me on the Iron. I am 5' 10" and already have to reach for the handlebars. Hopefully the Vintage Solo works out better

seat is comfortable much better than stock. only complaint is that the color is more of a flat black. the stock seat on the nightster matches the tank and fenders better
