The tire changer arrived promptly, and everything was as advertised. I have used it several times to install BMW Airhead tires onto cast wheels, and it works very well. The bead breaker is very good - makes the job easy. I decided to not install the bead breaker permanently - I just add the bead breaker with the bolt supplied (and do not use the spring) when I break a bead, and then remove it for removing/installing the tire. This makes the tire changer much lighter to move and easier to store on a shelf. For DIY shop work, I think this is a very good product.
Tired of paying dealer prices for tire changes, I bought this and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to change the rear tire on my Victory Vegas. I had changed one on my Sportster several years ago without a stand and had found tubeless tires are a LOT harder change than the tube-type tires I always changed myself back in the day. This stand makes it a home task again!
Barely had enough stroke to break my bead. Had to put a small piece of wood on the bead to make it happen. I still scratched my rim even while trying to be extremely careful. I'd like to see a Teflon or non scratch boot that comes with the tire changer to slip onto the breaker.
It works as designed. The only issue I had with it is it is light so using it to support the wheel while changing the tire it moves around alot. I suggest strapping it down to a bench to keep it stable.
