Great solution to lock your helmet
Easy fix for a bike with no or difficult helmet lock. This is easy to install and works great! The only issue was finding a tube the right size to mount to. I mounted it to the handlebars so that the helmet sits on the tank when the lock is used.

Almost lasted 3 months
I added this to a Ducati Hypermotard, on the subframe rail behind the muffler heat shield. You can hardly see the black one. I had to get a D-Ring extender, but it was a great solution for a bike with no helmet lock.
In order to lock, you must have the key in and turned, then hold the hook in the closed position and turn the key. It's a 2 handed operation wherever you mount it, but was an even greater hassle with the helmet hanging down on the hook. This morning, I rode into downtown, unlocked the holder, and the hook fell out onto the ground. The hinge pin had apparently worked it's way out. I'm lucky I had a padlock in my backpack I could use to lock up my Shoei.
All of my OEM locks have been closeable without the key. I'm going to see if I can find one that works the same way. I'm hoping I still have the pin in the lock, and I can make it work again. With the 'security' bolts provided for installation, I'm going to have to cut the thing off if I can't fix it. Smarter versions of this type of lock use the shackle to block access to the mounting screws.
