Easy to trim, and mold. Takes a little effort in tight spots, but if you have a tool of some sort with a smooth edge, it will aide in said tight spots. i.e.: sharp inner radius'

Very good product
Have used this product several times and have never been disappointed. It protects very well and sticks to just about anything. It also follows the many contours inside a sled's engine compartment.

This was not what I wanted. I needed heat shield padding for the inner fairing of my sport bike. This heat shielding has no foam backing.

Recommended but not ideal
So I purchased this product upon the recommendation of Vance and Hines mufflers for my Harley. My true dual pipes have a portion of the pipe which gets real near my inner thigh and is very hot, as mufflers usually are. Without wanting to change the mufflers I thought that this item, being rated to 2000 degrees, could be wrapped around that section of pipe and be, maybe not cool to the touch, but maybe just real warm. Nope. Whether I placed it directly on the pipe or just on the pipe guard, either way it lets a whole lot of heat penetrate. Oh well, $30 bucks down the drain.

Can the Moose Heat shield-M30051 material be cut ? And if so , with what would I be able to cut it with ?
Gary C on Aug 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Cuts easy.

Just good scissors will do the job.
I use it to protect plastics or fiber glass body pannels from exhaust pipe heat.
Good stuff.
What are the dimensions ?
A shopper on Oct 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The dimensions are 18 in. x 18 in. so the heat shield will be a square piece 18 in. on all four sides. You can cut it to fit your application.
Will this also stick to metal, chrome more specifically ?
