Like riding on rails
I got the PR3 rear, but had to wait for the budget to let me get the front tire.

I now have a matched set, with about 2000 miles on the rear and several hundred on the front. Some of those miles were in rain, some in desert heat, on a 700-lb BMW R1150RT-P (plus 200-lb rider and another 50 lbs of stuff in the saddleboxes).

These tires are like riding on rails. I'm glad that I waited until these were available.

The rear tire shows no obvious wear, so I'm confident that the multi-compound design will give me more miles than anything else I've run on.

I took a couple of runs through the cones, and low-speed performance is excellent. Doing the Cone Hula I can run faster or slower than I could on the original Dunlops. Stopping is improved. Traction is better even with a little sand and crud on the ground.

In rain, I was able to feel the road better, so that siping really does the job. Riding on grooved roads is more comfortable, with a lot less walk (again, I credit the multi-compound design).

Bottom line: These tires are the best I've ever ridden, and DK's price matching got them to me at the best price possible.

Best all-weather tire
I had been running Bridgestone Battleaxe BT-023's for a couple of years and they always felt fine. Then I tried the Michelin Pilot Road 2's and barely got 4,000 miles out of them on a sport touring bike that I ride year-round. Some friends convinced me to try the Road 3's and what a difference they make! Grip is excellent even on wet roads. I went riding in the snow today and they did just as well. They have a great tread pattern and are looking like I'll get +5,000 miles out of them. They provide a lot of road feedback but not too much. Not near as noisy as the BT-023's. This is definitely the tire I'll be running until something better comes out.

Road 3 awesome value
Well I have spend several seasons on pilot road 2's with excellent results on my ZX-14 here in Pa especially since theres a wide temp variation sometimes from morning to late afternoon the Michelin road family of tires are perfect for me. The road 3's are an improvement on an already great tire. Excellent turn in when sporting around the twisties with slightly better grip and excels when raining due to the tire having all the sipes to evacuate water quickly. I typically will go through a rear in less then three thousand but at this mileage these tires are just starting to square and still have more to go. My last set lasted six thousand which is unheard of on a big boar bike. I'm happy enough that I hope they continue this tire series for years to come!

Excellent tire and I choose the PR 3 over the PR4 because of the lower price.

Michelin's rock
Lost count how many of these I've purchased. I get more miles and confidence out of Michelin's and I've tried them all. I just wish they made this size in the Pilot Road 4! I've rode my K11RS fully loaded two up on the Dragon and all the other awesome NC roads at a very spirited clip, enough to turn the edges up and these tires never move. Always feel solid in heavy rains. I like getting 7500 vs 4000 miles out of a rear tire too which is why Michelin's continue to be put on both my sport touring bikes! Dennis Kirk continues to have the best price and I do shop around and their shipping is 2 days. Happy Riding!

tire performs well. previously ran PR2's. This seems better. Yet to ride in rain, but expect it to do well, if as good or better that 2's

Not a W rating, It's Z
I bought two of these, one for a Haybusa front so my turbo intercooler doesn't rub and one for my sons SV650 front. These Pilot Road tires are all I use on all my bikes now. I've tried many others but none wear as long and have the incredible traction these do. My busa puts down 450HP and this tire (rear version) can handle it, doesn't spin unless I try, corners awesome and the new version 3 has siping for better wet road traction.

BTW, it's Z rated, not W.

sticky
I love all the Pilot Road tires and this one is no exception. Haven't had it long yet but if it's anything like the Road 2 I'm sure it will wear just as well and have better wet road traction.
