Best sport touring tire available
I have used the roadsmarts and the original road. The road 2 has been longer lasting with more grip for me on a 2003 VFR. I am able to get 7500-9000 miles out of this rear. Stock bridgestone lasted 3400 miles, road lasted 7000 but had bad grip in cold and especially the wet. The roadsmarts were the closest to the road 2. The rear lasted about the same for me, and grip was similar, maybe a little less. I like the pilot power front and pilot road 2 combo on my vfr. I also like the road 2 front but don't get any more miles out of the front over a power front so I save my self a few bucks on that.

Michelin Pilot Road 2
I had the Pilot Road front & rear on my Ducati ST3 & got 9,000 miles on them - mostly highway. Since most of my miles are highway, I wanted a replacement tire that would be soft enough for fun weekend riding, but hard enough that it wouldn't quickly get a flat center from the highway miles. The Pilot Road 2 is a great choice with the dual compound construction. It sticks in the corners but it isn't showing the highway flat spot.
Dennis Kirk was great to work with and has attractive prices!

Michelin Road 2 is the best sport tour tire I have put on my machine. The tire outlast all the other brands I have tried and grips very well.

Lasts forever
Bought a set of these for my 08 z1000 in May of 2012. Rear tire lasted 7500 miles. (I rode them til 8k, but i don't recommend that) the front tire failed inspection this May (2015) after 16,000! pretty awesome for any bike tire, but a sportbike tire, that's insane. plenty sticky. I'm trying the road 4s, but i highly recommend these!

How many miles can I get off this tire?
A shopper on Mar 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I usually got 1200, but I really ride the bike. I've seen touring guys get 5000+ off this tire. Depends on how you ride. In 35 yrs of riding, this is the best do-everything tire I've ever found. Great tire.
What is the mfg. date on these tires?
Dave C on Oct 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Can be anywhere from 6 months to 1 1/2 years
