Cures the Wobble
I've had three different bikes that I've put Metzlers on, each one rode better, handled better and felt safer after putting the Metzlers on. And yes, they all had the oem Dunlops. I was a little disappointed when the guy at the local shop told me they quit making the ME880, these ME888s seem to be the same tire tho, same great performance and handling. They do not follow cracks and the wobble is gone.

Love this tire
So far, this tire handles very similarly to the ME880. Been brand loyal for quite some time. This tire is doing well in Oregon- through rain, and all the twisty-turnies...

The New "Triple 8"
I own a 2011 Victory Cross Country with a hot motor by Lloydz Motor Workz. #115 HP, 118 Ft Lbs# Metzeler 880's on the rear would give me 6,400 miles. The new ME 888 Marathon Ultra gave me 9,350 miles. That is 46% more mileage! The handling and stick in the corners is amazing. It gives me superior stability at high speeds and pinpoint accuracy in the corners. I've been riding for 40+ years and this combo of bike and tires is the best I've ever thrown a leg over. You gotta have 'em!

These tires so far have out performed the Dunlop's I had on my super glide, with only 500 miles on them so far. They stick better to the road and just handle great in corners. If I get the mileage out of them my brother does I will be very satisfied. as for right now I will by these tires again. Great service at Dennis Kirk as always, I got everything to change 2 tires in 3 days. And DK had the lowest price on everything that I ordered. Thanks DK

I put the ME888's on both front and back of my 09 Electraglide and I really like them as opposed to the Dunlops that were on. The ride is great as well as handling aspects. Even good grip on "tar snakes". Haven't had to ride in any rainstorms yet, but handled very well on wet pavement after a rain. I got a GREAT price from Dennis Kirk and super fast delivery.

Long Lasting Cruiser Tire
I just installed a pair of Metzeler ME888's on a Yamaha V Star 1100. The old tires I replaced were Metzeler ME880's. The ME888 is Metzelers replacement for the ME880. I have no doubt the ME888's will perform as good or better than the ME880's. They are a great tire that performs well hot or cold, wet or dry, and they are long lasting. I've used numerous pairs of Dunlop D404's (the OE tire) on the same bike. The Metzelers last three times longer. They cost more, but are worth every penny because of the long lifespan.

What does the HB mean on the tire size?180/65 HB 16
A shopper on Jun 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: the first letter is the speed rating... H is for speeds up to 130 mph .. V would be for speeds up to 150 mph. The second letter B stands for the type of tire, either bias or radial...In this case HB means speed rating of 130 mph and bias ply.
Can you tell me the range of dates of manufacture on the 6 units you have in stock?
Keith W on Dec 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not sure if you want to know when they were made or how long they last. As far as lasting I can tell you that the last Metzler front tire was on my bike for 4 years before getting this one. The rear tire lasted me for 2 years before replacing it. Both of those tires were not Ultras but the tread depth is deeper on the Ultas. Hope this is helpful.
My HD came with stock rear tire size mu85 b16... I want to know how much wider can I go with this application? Blackline fxs
A shopper on Dec 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends on several factors. What bike you are speaking of..... fatboy, ultra what? The most important is that when you widen your tire you could change the balance of your bike. You have to ensure your tire doesn't hit the belt guard so you may have to go to a different model HD belt guard that allows for the width of the tire. You don't want the tire to hit upon the upward and downward motion of the rear portion of the bike.
I'd check some forums to see what others have actually done, not what they think! I personally have placed a wider tie on my deuce but not my ultra. Also remember you may have two of the same size tires but different brands and they WILL be different widths! I can attest first hand. It may not be much but it could be the difference in safety...............

I have a wide glide, going across country this summer, have been running pirelli night dragon do not wish to have to change tires every 2,500 miles. Would I get fair performance out of Metz me 888 in all weather conditions?
robert l on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’m on my second set Meltzer 888 on my Ultra Limited. I got 11K plus out of the first set with no issues to speak of. I don’t really do too much wet road riding so I can’t comment on the wet road handling. To me, it’s just as good as most of the big name tire manufacturers without their big price....I’ll be buying another set when it’s time.
what is the difference of the 67 or 73 designation on the tires 130/90-16 blackwalls?
Gregory B on Apr 14, 2018

With the 73 that equals 805 pounds on the load. On the side walls there’s three plies and 3 plies on the tread
My super glide has cast wheels. Do I need tubes?
fatcatfred on Sep 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. Your wheels are for tubeless tires if they are cast. Put a new valve stem in also.
Does it have a balance dot?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not that I'm aware of. But it did not require a lot of weight to balance the wheel as I recall. These tires are awesome in my opinion. A great tire for traction in the rain. One of the best. Hope this helps. Guy

How long can you run a set of tires on a bike if your putting 1500 - 2500 miles on a yr
Ada p on May 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That depends, where do you store your bike, outside in the sun? The UV rays will break down the sidewalls. I typically get 12,000-14,000 miles on my Metzlers which is a bit over a year and my bike is garaged when not out and about. They are great tires with great grip.
