Superior Performance over stock Dunslop Tires.
This is my third rear Metz on the M109R and have not had the 1st issue. Great grip dry or wet with a nice round profile for turn in. (Front tire even more so)

Metzeler Delivers
Having used the ME880's before, I expected good results and this tire does it. Very good dry traction and not too out of balance. I'll be monitoring my mileage to see how it wears.

Better than stock Dunnie!!
I bought this tire, not because it was the most expensive, but because it was the most highly recommended tire in the size I was looking for.
Upon mounting it, it was sure hard to do the 100 mile break-in, but after that,,, hang on! My stock 240 dunnie would break loose under hard acceleration up into 3rd, but this one stuck hard and would pull the front tire off the ground into 2nd.
I have 1800 miles on it so far and it shows hardly any wear. I would buy this tire again even if it costs more than others. I also bought a 130 for the front, and together the bike handles way better than stock.

I thought the # 880 and 888 was the diff. between a bias and radial tire. If not what is the diff between the two? I looked at specs. and both #s say bias.
Trapper on Feb 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the ME888 front tire to replace a ME880 front tire. The difference on the sidewall information is as follows: ME880 Marathon-tread 4 plies polyester, sidewall 4 plies polyester-ME888 Marathon Ultra-tread 3 plies polyester, 2 plies polyamide, sidewall 3 plies polyester. The ME880 Marathon was made in Germany and the ME888 Marathon Ultra was made in Brazil. Both are bias ply tires.
what is the difference between the 150/70B-18 ME 880 and the 888?
Tim L on Oct 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As Far as I know the 888 is just an updated version of the 880 model Metzler 880. Side walls and dimensions are basically the same. I needed to use the 150/70B-18 on my bike because i put a little wider rim and 80 spoke rim on my 2006 Road King and the 880 is the only tire that fits. Ian sure the 888 would have worked fine but since Dennis Kirk had the 880's in stock I stuck with that tire. I got great mileage out of the Metzlers (13,000 Miles) and have been very happy with their tires. Sorry I can't be any more specific than that but hope that helps you. Take care and ride safe
