I installed these with the Memphis Shades mounting kit on my Suzuki C50, and they fit quite well. I had to adjust slightly to clear my highway bars, but these helped to reduce head buffeting. Good purchase in my opinion.
Added lowers under my Memphis Shades Fats windsheid and what a differance they made with the buffetting I got without them. Now I can smoke (sorry to the non smokers) while I ride without getting ashes in my face!! Rode in 40 deg. weather and noticed a huge differance in comfort.Be aware that you must purchase the lowers mounting kit sold seperatly to use these. After adding highway bars, Mustang wide vintage seats, Mustang wide sissy bar pad and bags the bike is more like a dresser so the lowers look pretty nice !!
I had been shopping for lowers for awhile, but was deterred by the high price of the dealership factory parts. I was suffering from a lot of "tank side wind". The cheapest I found them for was about $300 when shipping was added in. They were lowers made by Victory (Pure Polaris). This was after shopping until I was beating my head against the keyboard. I decided to try trusty Dennis Kirk to see if the Victory specific inventory had grown, and found the lowers and hardware kit for a very cheap, approx $90, including shipping! I ordered them and they came extremely fast. The lowers look very very good. I got the "solar" color which is a slight tint. They look quite sporty and custom with the tint. The lowers are nice thick plastic, and look like they will last for years to come. The mounting hardware, on the other hand, leaves a little to be desired as far as looks. They are not "triple show chromed" by any means, and the finish on the hex bolts is a little dull. I polished them up though, and bought some chrome bolts, which took an hour and $10. They now look like a whole different set of $200 mounts. Finish of the hardware aside, they are sturdy, and appear to be good quality. They will definitely get the job done of supporting the lowers, and were very easy to install. Another problem is that the manual for installing them does not show a location specific to my bike, since it is a somewhat universal mounting kit. I am a mechanic and really don't need a manual on how to turn a wrench, but it would have been nice to see if the location they recommended was above or below the triple tree, I ended up stomping the front brake and decided I could mount them below the triple tree. It's still up in the air until I can accomplish a high speed stomp on the front brake and bottom out the shocks. All in all, this is a great alternative to the high dealer price of lowers, and the way I look at it, I saved $200 for an item that was 300% of the price and only 10% better. They also cut down the side wind dramatically for a much more comfortable ride. I would highly recommend this item to anyone looking for a great set of lowers, at a great price! Hope this review helps.
Purchased these because other reviews said they decreased buffiting. They have reduced my buffiting by 80% during initial trial runs. Hope to do a little better with some fine tuning. If not still will be satisfied.
When I got my windshield the lowers were on backorder for about a week, so I got a chance to ride with just the shield and then with the lowers. What a difference! Not only do they look great, but the wind protection is fantastic. They were easy to install also. I wish the directions were a little more specific, but after a few minutes of trial and error, I had them mounted and ready to ride.
Mounting was ez. But: on my bike I now have lost full steering because of the unversal mounts . It works best the way it is done . The really help & I like them a lot ,well worth the money. If I move them more forward I can gain full steering they just don't look or work as well. Buell xb12xt
