After trying the 5" (too short) and the 12" (too tall)windshields I decided to try the 9" and it is perfect for my Honda Phantom. Ordering was easy and shipping was fast. I'll definitely use Dennis Kirk for all future purchases.
When I put a Memphis Shades batwing on my 2003 Honda VT1100C, I opted for the 6.5" spoiler windshield. It looked really cool, but didn't seem to provide much protection, especially on windy days.(its always windy in Iowa). I replaced it with a 9" windshield. It looks great and gives good protection. I'm 5'7" and the 9" is just right. I can look over the top or thru it. By the way, I used the batwing to replace a Memphis Fats that had the old style hardware that used allen head screws(not the trigger lock) and I was able to use my old hardware, which saves alot of money.
Ordered this nine inch windshield to replace the five inch that came on the batwing fairing that came on the bike I purchased last fall. The five inch did look good but did not offer much protection from the wind and bugs. The nine inch brought the height of the windshield to the proper height for visibility and protection. Placing the order was easy and in two days I had the package delivered and the windshield installed in about 10 minutes. The fit was perfect and I'm ready to ride (without bugs on the forehead.
The windshield is a great addition to the batwing I ordered for my 2008 Dyna. The 9 in height is perfect to block even the most stubborn rock or bug. I gave it 4 stars for fit because I think after molding the windshield relaxes a little and I had to wait for a warm day to mount it to the fairing. Overall it is a great product. Good job, Memphis Shades.
Had the 5 inch to start with and was getting too much buffeting. changed to the 9 and it is much better and I can hear my hog tunes with out turning it up full blast. btw im 5'7" and have a mustang touring seat which adds about an inch
I read the other reviews before I bought this, and most wish they would have went with the taller shield but had already bought the 5" or 7" so I went with the 9" to begin with. Looks Good and works good.
Sure, I'd love one those batwings with all the bells and whistles -- speakers and gauges, etc. But the real reason I wanted one was to deflect the wind when touring. The 9" windshield does the job and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Also love the fact that it quickly detaches.
