I actually sent this back and exchanged it for a taller one. The air off this windshield would hit at or about my eyes so I sent it back and exhanged it for the taller one which works great and the gradiant makes it look much better than just a plain clear one.
The 7 inch windshield seems to be the perfect height for my short (5' 5") stature. I can still see well over the top of the WS. I love the Gradient Black look. Matches very well to the Batwing itself. I am now waiting for snow to melt to test it's performance, but I am in high hopes.
I am 5'9" and bought a 7" shield for my VTX 1800N Batwing, it's a little too short so I ordered a 9", but I like it never the less. I measured based on 15" above the headlight but I recommend going a little taller than measured.
For my bike and seat height this works well for speeds under 70 and light traffic. In heavy traffic and higher speeds,a taller windshield would be ideal to avoid wind buffering. I put 3000 miles on it in a week and only wished for a taller option a handful of times.
Do yourself a favor and buy the tinted version. It took hours to shrink and stretch the tint myself.
