There are certain types of flying bugs down here on the Gulf Coast that have shells a lot harder than The Motor Company's windshields. Consequently I was spending lots of money on Plastic polishes to do away with tiny scratches left by pesky little kamakazis. That hassle disappeared when I swapped the stock windshield on my '05 FLSTCI for a Memphis Shades stock replacement. Now all it takes to keep the shield bright and clear is a little dishwashing liquid and a 100% cotton cloth. BTW: Dennis Kirk's ad is incorrect: this shield fits perfectly well with stock H-D passing lamps.
This windshield fit exactly with the OEM brackets on a 2012 HD Heritage Classic. Followed the instructions as followed and went on slick. 1 person could put it on without trouble but 2 to better. If I ever need a windshield on my HD Fatboy will be looking at Memphis Shades for sure.
My bike is 11 years old now. This is the 3rd replacement windshield, all of them this model from Memphis Shades, all perfect duplicates of the OEM plastic. I would probably still be on the original replacement had it not been for a couple of minor accidents that damaged the other 2. These are perfectly clear, easy to clean, no distortion across the field of view, and never developed a haze or any "cobwebbing" effect. Hopefully, this will be my last one, but if not, I'll definitely buy this one again. Super fast shipping, great value.
The overall quality of the windshield is excellent but unfortunately the 97 FLSTC came with five different front ends and it didn't fit my bike and they didn't have anything that would make it work for my bike.
