I've been shopping around and actually tried out some other shields from fellow riders but this one is really good as is seems to have more adjustability points for fine tuning. and as any rider knows as the miles go down so does your body position on the bike from minor fatigue. one allen wrench and i can adjust tilt and height with ease.
also very low profile and doesn't feel like your in the 1st row of a hockey game.
Found this windshield easy to install and adjust. However the turbulance to my helmet was worse than without the windshield. Tried to adjust several different ways without success and have since returned this winshield. Also the install to the handlebars causes the mirrors to vibrate so bad that you can't see out of the them at highway speed. Going to go with fork mounted shield next time. However the gradient black and design looked good on the machine and this may work for a rider less than 6'+ in height.
Very easy install, color match to my bike, just the right size & style for my GUZZI. very staible considering that it only uses two posts, gives a very clean and unclutterd look around instrument cluster.
Installed this on my 2005 Honda VTX1300R. It was fairly easy to mount and adjust. I test rode it and made some more minor adjustments afterwards. That seemed to work pretty well. I think it looks really well on my bike and probably would on other big cruisers too. It gives moderate wind protection, but I definately don't want a huge windshield. This one is not bulky at all and keeps the classic look of the cruiser style bikes. This was the perfect choice for me. For the price and benefit, this is a good choice!
this is a great company with great product support. I took a huge rock from a big rig right in the centre of the shield, the shield cracked in the "star fish" pattern. But it held together. When I called Memphis shades to see if it could be repaired, I gave them the shield serial # and they replaced it free of charge!
Let me first say that I haven't purchased a windshield in YEARS! When I did, it was mostly National Cycle products. This is my first Memphis Shades and it won't be my last. I was looking for something that would provide me with some protection and not break the bank. First of all, it is nice looking on my 06 Softail and keeping with my sleeker design (not huge sail of a windshield). It does offer enough protection where I'm not being blasted in my chest with air or face with bugs. I'm 5'11" and my line of sight is just over the top of the shield. This is my preference in the event it becomes dirty due to rain spray from other vehicles so I can look over it. The hardware is decent looking (wished it was chrome) but fantastic to adjust and mounting was a breeze! Keep in mind this is only a two point mounting system (so it shakes a little) but that is what I like so I can change the angle of the shield to make it more aerodynamic.
I've used this windshield on 2 different bikes, both with good results. On my smaller bike it seemed large yet not intrusive, and on my bigger bike it blends in with the bikes styling. Both bikes Honda,a Shadow 750 and a Vtx1300r. Mounting was easy once I got the hang of it and now I can ride with or without it mounted by removing it or remounting it in a few minutes.Oh by the way...you can buy replacement windshields with different colors and the hardware is interchangeable with some of the other Memphis Shades handle bar mounted windshields.
I have a 2012 Kawasaki Vulcan Custom 900 Trike by Lehman conversions. After looking for months at 100's of windshields, I finally came across this one. I looked at several manufacturers but was set on Memphis Shades. Plus Dennis Kirk has an exhaustive inventory from all brands. I found the Hellcat style and settled on hat. Now, color.....WOW ! Almost gave up and then clicked on the next page and this thing jumped out at me!!! After checking the close up ,pictures I was hooked! Got it in like 3 days. Bit of a chore to mount by yourself, but patience is a virtue. Mounting is adjustable to no end, stylish, and no vibration at 70+ MPH Looks OEM...I'm more than satisfied. Great value, tint/style is perfect! I highly recommend Dennis Kirk and Memphis Shades!!!!!!!
This shield does a great job of keeping the bugs out of your face while still allowing you to feel the wind. If you are looking to greatly reduce the wind blast on your chest, you will want something bigger as the wind still comes up over the tank. However, if you want face protection with a minimalist style, this is the one you want. My only complaint is the aggravation of getting it mounted and adjusted as this can take a while to get it how you want, but once installed it is very easy to adjust.
