Had a 9' which didn't offer enough face protection, the 12" moved the air stream up over my head on the Road King which is what I wanted it to do. Would like to see the Batwing faring tilted 5 degrees forward to deflect more wind.
This is the second one of these I have owned. I wasn't happy with the way the first one mounted on my Suzuki C90 About 6 or 7 years latter I got one for my 2006 Yamaha Roadliner. everything about it on this bike is outstanding. I am extremely happy with it. If you are counting on it for blocking the wind properly be sure and listen to how you are told to measure for it. I ended up getting 2 windows but I'm okay with that. I really like the way the shorter one looks but have a second window for taking trips.
I ordered the 12'' windshield for my Batwing Fairing that installed beautifully on my 2007 V-Star 1300. It took a tag team of friends and I to figured out what size windshield to order, since I did not have the fairing on hand. Lucky I got it right and I didn't have any returns to deal with. I orderd the solar colored shield and it looks and functions superbly. Thanks Memphis Shades for making a great product for my machine.
Great quality, ease of fitment is good however when it comes time to remove the nuts by the headlight , take apart the headlight and undo it from the inside, the instructions make it sound like you pry off the nuts from the outside. I know have a dented headlight housing. Otherwise doesnt take long at all. And buy the recommended hardware for mounting right off the bat
I,m not a machanic. It,s just a hobby but even I had fun putting everything together. Had to replace the for hex nuts holding the batwing to the hardware because they vibrated off. Bought 4 wing nuts at hardware store. Good to go.
I decided to buy the biggest windshield after taking a bolt that was kicked up off the highway at 70 mph square to the visor on my helmet, fracturing it and not my face!! The bolt actually pierced it and lodged itself into the foam of the helmet above my forehead. I had removed my windshield in preparation for the batwing fairing and decided to wear my full coverage helmet to work that day. Good thing I did!! See my batwing review for a pic!
