I ordered a pair of Show Chrome (SC) bar to begin with. They were good heavy bars. I had to return them because my turn signal hit them when turning the handlebars, stop to stop. There is no vertical adjustment in the turn signal of a 08 VTX 1800F spec-3. What the heck is he mentioning the SC bars for? I mention this because now I have something to compare the Lindby Custom Chrome Multibar too. Both bars mounted to the upper 10mm radiator mount bolt. A big difference was the lower SC mounted to both the upper and lower foot peg bolts. The wimpy lower Lindby bars had one tear drop flange with one mount bolt hole in it. When the Lindby bars delivered, the first thing I noticed was they were 1/2 the weight of the SC bars. The Lindby bars look good but have been made with flimsy thin wall material. I wanted to put a fish scale on it to report how much it actually took to deflect the bars after fully installed but, I am telling you can deflect (bend) them with your big toe alone. There just wimpy good looking bars that are priced too high.
I bought the multibar about three years ago so I could relax on a tristate ride I had planned. they mounted very easily and were very comfortable. Recently i had to lay my bike down and found out what an awesome choice I made the multibars wraped in front of the engine just like they're supposed to and saved my bike from being totaled. they protected the engine, exhaust, air cleaner, and kept the bike from laying on the handle bars. I love this product and will definatly be buying another one.
I recently put this on my Honda shadow, thankfully I did. Not a month late on my way to work at 1030 p.m. I hit a deer at 57 mph. If it had not been for the quality of this product, I certainly would have lost my leg, or possibly my life. The Lindby multibar took the full blow, with a bend in it, I only received a severe ankle sprain. I am replacing this product with a new one with no hesitation.
