But it's taking forever to arrive, so in the meantime I put the Kuryakyn smoked tail light lens kit on, moved my license plate bracket down to the swingarm, and tossed the plate bracket. But that left me with the three holes in the fender. This cover goes on quick, looks a LOT better than I thought it would, and covers the holes completely.
You have the choice of a skull or a maltese cross for the center of the cover. Either one is held on from behind by two small socket head cap screws. Be sure to loctite them, because once you stick the cover to the fender, if they come loose you'll have to pull it off to get to the screws to tighten them.
The center emblems are made of metal. But the rest of the cover is chrome-plated plastic. It looks fine, but I would have paid another $5 or so for a totally metal part. Thats the reason for the 4 star rating.... but it's not a big deal and I knew what I was getting ahead of time.
Overall, I was so happy with the look of my bike's fender after installing this cover and the blacked out lenses, that I may just sell the bobbed fender kit once I get it.
its better than the three holes for sure, but i dunno...
