This piece is an inexpensive good-looking upgrade to the stock shift linkage. I was a bit disappointed that the front bolt was too long to mount a chrome acorn nut on, so that would give it an unfinished appearance because you just have the supplied locknut to install and a lot of exposed thread which is not very nice looking. I fixed this be reversing the front mount so the bolt faces the engine instead - not the way the directions said to do it, but it looks a whole lot better. HD said this was acceptable practice.
I would recommend to anyone with a Harley. This fit my Heritage perfect. Never have to worry again about my linkage breaking ( which has happened to me and had to use a boot lace to get home) Heim joints should be stock on Harley for the money you pay . As always with DK, Love getting my parts from them, never any hassle. Thanks DK
I was really excited to get this product. It was a gift for my dad and to see the smile on his face when he opened it was great. He absolutly loves it. He has wanted it for a few months now and i finally got a chance to get it for his harley. He said "this part just makes the bike look complete and shiny, no more of that stock part look."
I love this shifter linkage. Had to replace the junk one harley puts on the bikes. The stock one broke while riding. Thank god I had wire ties with me to rig it up to finish riding that day and to get home.It just got delivered today it was very easy to installed perfect fit. Didn't even have to adjust it. It's a nice addition to my 2005 Road King classic.Kuryakyn makes a nice product .
I agree with one of the other reviews, this is what Harley should be putting on their bikes, it looks and feels much nicer than the stock one I installed on my 2004 Road King Classic and am very please with it.
you may have to buy longer extension kit if you have a 02 03 FXDWG or adjust the transmission rod lever a pain to reach to get the proper throw so the forward foot lever doesn't hit the inner primary lower case bolt! So now I have to buy a ext kit $ 30.00 or a new rod and smaller barring housing similar to the stock OEM $75.00 + not including shipping! disappointing but not down!
Simply put this is what H-D should be doing on all its bikes,a very simple pleasing chrome shift rod on a $20,000 motorcycle,as standared equipment.Installation takes a few minuts and is well worth the price and effort.
