Much better, give yourself time
Put this on my 2014 FLHTK (Ultra Limited)

I had watched some video and read a lot fo reviews ahead of time, so I knew what to expect. Yes, the cotter pin can be a pain. Yes, you do need to move the crash bars ahead to get the pedal into place. Yes, it is the same length, but tipped down.
Here are some tips and thoughts.

First, if you are tall and have size 12's or better like me-- this will make your riding experience much better and safer. The stock pedal made me swing my foot out and around and back to get on it. Now I can actually cover the break through town. Much nicer.

Cotter pin: Have good light and put a black dot with a sharpie on the head of the pivot pin indicating where the hole location is-- you won't be able to see that when you get the pin back in place. I not only used a needle-nose, but a needle nose from a micro set of tools I have. That worked well.

Crash bars: On my ultra, the crash bars include the integrated liquid cooled lowers. You do need to remove the bottom bolts and loosen the center as the instructions say, however, with the cooling stuff, the lowers are heavier. Also, the lower portions of all that moulding gets more in the way than you think it should. Take your time putting it back. I had to experiment on both sides to find a way to push the heavy bars back and up into a spot where I could get the first lower started. After that first one, it's a piece of cake.

Pedal cover: The instructions don't cover when to remove your stock pedal cover and move it to the new pedal. The video I saw had it going on last. I would put it on BEFORE you mount the pedal. You can do it after and I did that. However, again because of the lowers, there wasn't a lot of room to work.

Medal parts bin: If you have one of those medal parts pans, use it. You need to save and keep straight all the bolts.

This is a super easy product to install and makes a huge difference. Allow yourself a couple hours or longer if you don't have proper tools. You will need hex and star sockets and I'd also suggest a set of T-Handle hex wrenches too.

Great Product!!
Quality product that makes access to the rear brake easier. Install on my 2017 street glide was pretty simple. Carter pin is a little tricky if you have smaller pliers.

It's same length as original?
A shopper on Dec 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The extended brake pedal is not the same length as the original. It is longer and lower than the original.
I wear a size 14 boot and the extended brake pedal works perfect for me. I don't have to raise my foot or leg as high, which makes my ride more comfortable. Especially for in town stop and go traffic.
