I bought this extender to move my passenger's pegs out and forward(combined with 4 in. Adjustable Lockable Offset Part #: 493542). When riding 2 up, my wife complained her knees and hips hurt with the stock setup(on Harley 1200 Sportster Custom, 2006). She wanted to feel like forward controls for her legs too, and this setup did the trick. If you just need to go sideways around the pipes(on right side), the 1.25" extender will be sufficient(with 2.25" now I have 1.5" gap to the pipe). But now the passenger pegs extend sideways a little more than the rider's ones, which is pretty comfortable. And with the adjustable offsets, you can position the pegs up/down and forward/back... in any place you wish, so it's really good. The only drawback is that there are many joints now and you can't just roll up the entire setup(when riding solo), you just move up the pegs(as with the standart setup)- the rest stays open. Well, it's not the prettiest thing on my bike, but it's VERY COMFORTABLE for the passenger's legs, and that's what I needed. If Kuryakyn can combine the 2 parts in one, will be Awesome!
Not very good looking alternative to extending your footpegs. It does make it difficult putting your feet down.If you need a longer peg,for your right leg to extend around the air cleaner then this is a solution.
very durable, good finish. I wish it came in a black satin color instead of just chrome.
the 2 washers that came with it to hold the peg in the upright position by force dont both fit in there no matter how hard youi try to get them in there, so for now i just use one locking washer (whatever its called) we will see if it holds the peg in their upright position when not in use in 5k more miles.
other than that, good price, good product, nothing fancy
