I just installed these on my 2009 Fat Bob and installation was simple, remove the two screws holding the side covers on, put a little locktite blue on the new screws provided, line up the bracket and install the new screws. These are well made brackets that fit the way they are supposed to and work like they are supposed to.
These brackets fit my '07 Sportster 1200C perfectly and they keep the bags off the muffler and away from wheel, belt etc. The only issue was I had to source special length bolts to fit the fender support because of my HD Detachable Sissy Bar.
I mounted these on my 2010 FXDWG, as with any add on for this bike it required a good deal of work to make them fit and still retain the bike's styling. I made bushings to mount the stop/tail/turn lights directly to the support brackets, eliminating the stock lamp supports. I also made a bracket to move the stock license plate mount back one inch to accomodate the Willie and Max compact slant bags. The end result is a very clean, nearly stock look for very little money.
Nice, solid bag supports. Dennis Kirk - great service, fast shipping.
I would have given them 5 stars, but I had to locate and install two approx. 1/4" thick bolt spacers (one on each side) for the top shock bolts to space the front support mounting flanges to keep them from binding on the shock. 2016 XL1200C. Luckily, I found a pair of spacers that worked in a junk drawer. I also had to purchase a longer custom made crossover for the leather bags. Both the supports and old bags look great. A worth while project.
They look good, but for $63 I just don't see it. Hollow tubing and I had to bend them apart to fit (1/2") and this was per DennisKirk tech support. Again, for $63 not sure I should have to do this...They do look good and I did keep them. 2007 Softail Springer Classic.
