I have installed these in approx 10 different bikes from a 80 Tour Glide to 86, 90, 01, 2010, 11, and 12s. In all cases the only thing I had to do is re-route the clutch cable. All wiring fit and installed perfectly. These bars give a stability to the bike weather riding, sitting still, or moving the bike by foot. Any easily recommended upgrade that makes total sense once you've made the trade!
First I would like to say that I am a big fan of Khrome Werks Tall Sweeper bars. I have had them on two previous bikes (2006 and 2011 Road Glide). In both of these cases the bars were very comfortable and put my hands at the right height. I also rode a 2006 Ultra Classic with a similar version except they were wider to accommodate the fairing. They also were very comfortable with great hand positioning.
When I purchased my new 2014 Ultra Limited the 300515’s were the first change I made from stock. I even called Khrome Werks to see if they would fit properly. I was assured by their staff that they would. Well, evidently someone has not done their homework. It is true they will fit, but there are two major issues. First, the 2014 inner fairings have a totally different design which does not allow the 300515’s to be pushed up very far. This means that your hand position may be further back but will be almost as low as stock bars. Second, the control area (grips, clutch, and brake) is bigger which places the bolt that connects the fluid lines to the clutch and brake reservoirs to close to the handle bars. The HD shop Techs found that they could not rotate the controls around to put them in a comfortable position without these bolts either hitting the bars or rubbing when the bike was running.
It appears that Khrome Werks just assumed that just because the bars fit a 2013 they would work on a 2014.
