Two black bricks
Like my original Field Armor boots that lasted 7 years, I'm sure these will be just as durable...But I don't remember the originals being quite as stiff as these. These things are so stiff, you can't bend your feet in them, rather, you have to pivot as you walk. I hope they loosen up. For now, they are too stiff, and the top buckle doesn't extend far enough so they are tight around the calf. PS: I'm a fatboy, so that might be the issue. :-)

What are the buckles made of?

BEST ANSWER: Old FA boot had plastic buckles. These are aluminum.
