what is the OD size?

Do i need a special tool to install this seal?

BEST ANSWER: Harley Davidson makes a special tool that no one uses for installing every seal. I haven't installed that seal in any 4 speeds (shovel head?) but many times in 5 speeds. Same thing. Just find a piece of PVC pipe that slips over the main shaft. Grease up that seal real good to keep the lips from getting damaged from the shaft splines. Once on the smooth part of the shaft, use the PVC to gently seat the seal in the main gear
