These gaskets are very delicate. I should've never removed the old ones. I was afraid that if I didn't replace them before installing my new exhaust system that it might leak. The new Genuine James leaked! They are easy to fold up and they don't stay in the exhaust port well. The good part was I was able to straighten it out and reuse it. BUT knowing what I know now, the stock Harley gaskets are big fat robust ones that were certainly reusable and difficult to get out. I tore them up pulling them out and couldn't believe how much thicker and wider they were than the Genuine James ones were. I knew immediately that I should've kept that stock ones in. But it was too late.
What can I say they did the job. Fresh gaskets, free delivery, fast shipment. I bought these when I purchased the Vance and Hines Double Barrel exhaust. Great pipes. Thanks for free shipping and quick delivery Dennis Kirk.
These particular exhaust port gaskets are well worth the buy. They were very suffeciant and the price was definately unbeatable. There were no leaks, and they did a exceptional job. I would recommend these to anyone!
These were supposed to be an exact fit for my bike but when I pulled the old one out, it was rwice as thick. This led me to only replace one, leaving the old one in the other head. Well the old one I left in sealed and doesn't leak, the new one I replaced leaks. Now I have to get a set of oem from the Harley dealer, pull the exhaust again, to replace the one of these I just put in.
These pipes make my 2009 flat black and chrome harley look even better than it did, I also bought the Hypercharger and fuel pac from Dinnis Kirk. Awesome. There is nothing else to say...just plan AWESOME. Thanks Dinnis Kirk.
The set of exhaust that I bought came with gaskets and the description of product said nothing about gaskets included,so when the person that took my order asked if I wanted gaskets I said yes !!!!!!! Never used them but look as if they would be ok,Maybe at another time .
Purchased these when I purchased V&H Double Barrel exhaust. Once I pulled out the OEM gaskets from my HD Heritage Classic I noticed a big difference between the 2. The OEM is made out of reinforced graphite composite with a taper interface to the pipes. These gaskets were a different material and shaped like a flat washer. Though these may work I decided to postpone installation until I could get OEM gaskets, glad I did.
If you have the stock header pipes, you're better off getting the tapered version or buying the gasket from the dealer. These gaskets are flat and because of the inward curved edge of the header pipe you won't get a good seal.
