tough time pounding them on. should have fit better. i,m sure they will be hard to get off when worn. origanals came off easy. for all the trouble, i hope they wear well. also had to drill pilot hole bigger and ream out the hole so the bolt would sit flush. if you dont mind customizing, then buy em. they are a "will fit" not an exact OEM
I ordered the Black Hi performance slides for my 95 zr and could not be happier. Simply had to cut them to the desired length and slide them on! With the graphite additive they produce less friction, which in turn means better durability!!!
The garland slides are great. I bought a set for a 96 Vmax 600. Simply cut to length and install. Nice product, albeit there are cheaper slides on Shade Tree, I didn't notice until after I ordered from DK.
I bought them for an Excel III. They worked great! Later I went to a Yamaha dealer, because I needed slides for my other sled in the next hour. I came to find that the dealers slides were these garland, with the addition of a Yamaha sticker and a few dollars.
These hyfax's slid right on, took me longer to get the old ones off. Read other reviews where people had problems with screw holes not big enough or hard to slide on, I had none of these problems. Had to cut a little off both ends (as expected) so bolt hole lined up but was a breeze on the band saw. Sprayed a little wd40 on the rails and they went almost all the way by hand with a few love tapps to finish them in place. Make sure you order quantity 2 add these are sold add singles, i missed that and it cost my a extra 9 bucks in freight to get the second one here but i missed that in the description so oh well. Material seems very good and the yellow color looks great with my yellow simmons skis. Going to order more for my other sleds.
Not sure how anyone could rate these as poor if broken in right and hot cold treated to harden them. I installed these before this last riding season. I rode them hard for a mile or so to heat them up and drove into deep snow and stopped to cool them off. I did this a several times when riding for the first time this year. I now have over 2500 miles from this year and there is plenty left for next year if I wanted. Far outlasted my original factory slides. I should easily get next year's riding season out of them. My factory slides only lasted 1100 miles. I put these on my 2011 Crossfire sno pro 800 141"track.
