What was your intended objective when you started the build?
to honor my uncle
What motivated you to start your project?
The motorcycle was purchased in 1976 by my uncle after he got out of the army. After he passed it’s at in the garage 4/10 years collecting dust and withering away. I inherited it at that point. It was not in running or driving condition. I replaced the front tire and the rear tire, put header wrap on, put vintage leather bags on, and put a sissy bar on. I rebuilt the carburetor and at some point I changed the coil. I also changed the front rotor and brakes
What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?
I think that the header wrap and the bags give it that old school look that I was going for. A lot of the Chrome and aluminum on the motorcycle doesn’t have a lot of shine to it and I didn’t want to do a full restoration I just wanted to give it that old school vibe like my uncle would have done leave it pretty original
What are you most proud of?
the fact that the bike runs and drives beautiful and every time I’m on it I think of my uncle
What do other people say about your motorcycle?
They say it’s a cool old bike they like the old school vibe I don’t know if I would call it a rat rod bike but it’s closer to that then being a full restoration shiny clean never ridden bike. This bike gets ridden all the time it was my daily driver for 3 years.
