The product arrived expertly packaged on the day DK said it would. There is a problem with the fit, considering I am replacing a Bashed FMF gnarly with an FMF gnarly one would expect a perfect match, Nope, one of the pipe mounts is an inch off. I have skills to compensate but many people do not so the bracket would be a show stopper.
The narly pipe finish rust not as good as stock finish. The fit with stock silencer not good.,Power not as managble as stock pipe. The pipe is heavy but stonger than stock,I would recomend the trail- tec exhaust flange protector-ktm xc 250,with this pipe.
I got this pipe after a recent rebuild. I was happy with the stock pipe on my '93 CR250 but during my rebuld I found the pipe did not fit properly. The Gnarly pipe fit better than the stock I thought. It is tougher than the stock or other pipes I have seen. I was more than happy with the power delieverly. Gave the bike more usable power in bottom and mid for the power band. Which is what I was looking for woods riding. If you are riding off-road or doing hare scrambles, this pipe is a must!
The pkg was on time as promised, and fit and finish were perfect on my 250. I would not say the gains were super huge; but, is an improvement over the stock pipe on the low and mid ranges which is great for the single tracks and some tighter motocross tracks in the area.
It comes with a tag that says "03-06 GasGas 250/300." I put it on my 2006 GasGas EC300 to replace the FMF fatty pipe, and it makes a huge difference in power delivery. It has all kinds of grunt down low, and it pulls hard through the mid range. I did have to drop a pilot jet size. Its a great American made product that looks great, and fits well right out of the box.
i bought this pipe for my 02 cr 250 the motor had been freshly re-built i liked the power it had but im use to the low and mid torque from my yz. i put this pipe on my cr and didnt even bother re-jeting my bike i notice mimunal lag without re-jeting the added power was worth it and its so easy to install i did it after we arrived on vaction in a matter of 15 minutes I recommend this pipe to anyone looking for the low to mid power
I bought this pipe to replace a Pro Circuit Platinum 2 that I crushed beyond repair. The power delivery with this pipe is very similar to my PC pipe, but with maybe a bit more low-end. I can't perceive any difference in mid or top-end performance between the two. The FMF seems to be of a slightly heavier construction too. The only complaint I have is that fit could have been a little better, as it took a good deal of work to get it installed. But I was able to get it on and ready to ride without too much effort.
Purchased for an 07 KTM 200 XCW. This is the 2nd Gnarly on the bike. The gnarly is a better value than a stock replacement, but I don't think its any tougher than stock. It also fits somewhat awkwardly. It takes some work to get it to mount.
Other than that, it performs as well or better than stock.
