I was planning a trip to South Dakota this last summer and had to figure out how to pack all my luggage on my Harley Davidson Softtail. It was not working out to good for me. So i decided to look through my trusted DennisKirk catalog to find a luggage bag that would be roomy enough for my belongings yet not to big that it would interfere with my bike handleing. I found the Saddlemen EX2200S Deluxe Sissy Bar Bags w/Chrome Studs. I like the looks of the bag and like how easy it is to put on and take off my bike. It holds up very well to the wind, rain, heat and cold that I have used it in. I am happy with purchasing this product and plan to use it for many more trips.
Saddlemen EX2200S Deluxe Sissy Bar Bags w/Chrome S
I did my homework before buying comparing the different brands and materials. Once deciding on Saddlemen the size was important factor. I own a Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Deluxe using the rear luggage rack. They do offer the EX3500 which is a larger bag and was leaning toward larger. I bought the EX2200. Dennis Kirk price was a good value. The bag is two piece with the detachable roll top bag. I use the top bag as a daily mounted rack bag. Its matches my OEM studded saddlebags and seat. The delivery was quick and packed to prevent damage sealed in heavy plastic. I would buy from Dennis Kirk again. For the look of a leather bag and not the price. The zippers work well with access to either side of the bike. Plenty of pockets for sunglasses or anything you would need on long trips. The directions to mount the bag to the luggage rack are confusing. Not well written. Anyone can figure it out with a little time.
Just got the Saddleman EX2200S sissy bar bag and it is awesome. Has 13 places to store items. 2 big and 11 small. Comes with duffel bag and rain cover. Carry handle for taking off bike is great. Plenty of room for a one or two night trip. Looks great with the studs.
I think this saddleman bag is great. It's got tons of room and mounts in seconds. The only thing I didn't like is the plastic rods to hold the bag tight against the sissy bar. When its hot out the rods flex and the bag leans. I changed them out to aluminum and haven't had that problem since.Still a great product at a reasonable price.
This bag is sharp looking just like my Harley. Holds lots of luggage, opens from the side so it's easy to get what you need without off loading the bag. It comes with a rain cover for those nasty days.
About the only thing I would change about this bag is I would/will make the bottom more ridgid. the sides tend to droop a little not real bad but it could get to the point where with my low profile rack it blocks my plate. If you run a regular luggage rack you should have no problem at all.
I really like the looks and layout of this bag. Very well thought out and the construction is flawless. Noone else makes a bag this size with the side opening feature on the main compartment, very handy feature. No more digging for whats in the bottom! would reccomend this bag to anyone looking for more storage, great looks and ease of use. My only complaint is that the price seems a little high compared to other bags...but then again...there are no others like this.
This bag is perfect for overnight travel. I like the ability to detach the roll bag on top and use the lower section only if needed. The bag is of very good quality and matches my Saddlemen saddle bags very nicely. Although I cannot comment on durability as I have only had this product for a few weeks, it looks like it should hold up well. I really like the method that it attaches to my sissy bar, and it holds firmly in place with only one additional strap (included). The bag seems to be the right fit for my Triumph Bonneville America. I would recommend this product for just about any bike that has a sissy-bar/ luggage rack.
This bag is an excellent purchase at this price point. It matches my Saddlemen saddlebags perfectly. The universal mounting system is very easy to work with and keeps the bag pretty secure.
The bag material is very durable and in my opinion probably waterproof. The bag does come with a raincover that can be used also.
I leave my bag mounted on the bike and use it to transport my laptop PC (I put the laptop in a backpack, and then put the backpack into this bag). Also, the bag stretches just enough to hold my full face helmet, but not too much where there is strain on the zipper.
Dennis Kirk is great to work with for purchases as well as any returns. I originally bought bag S2600 Deluxe Sissy Bar Bag but returned it because it looked too much like a suitcase and it didnt' match my saddlebags.
