I bought it when the stock cap broke. the first time i put it on was right before a trip to the U.P.. functionally it was awesome. I have only one complaint about it, and that is that it leaks a little gas right around the edge of the viewing window... with a tiny bit of epoxy it could be easily fixed. An awesome value if you need a replacement, and as always, dennis kirk ships cheap and amazingly fast.
I selected this gas cap to save a few dollars over the OEM one. The yellow paint from the floating fuel level indicator is smeared around inside the plastic viewing bubble. Still read-able, but looks like heck. Not worth replacing again, but I would not buy one again either. Stick with OEM for this replacement.
Looks great, Fits great, but after about 90 miles of sledding it is starting to weep gas out the top where the clear plastic meets the black plastic. I would not recommend this to a friend. I'm not sure how Dennis Kirk is going to handle the replacement. we will see.
The first cap i received leaked, I emailed customer service, they wanted me to send back the cap before they sent a new one. This is a problem seeing that i do not have another cap to install in the mean time. 5 emails later they finally understood what i was saying and shipped me a replacement cap along with a return shipping label. Within 5 minutes of riding the sled the new cap was leaking from the same place ( where the clear gauge is). so at this point i do not want to deal with their customer service again, i will buy a OEM cap for 29.99 on ebay and cut my losses with Dennis Kirk. Thanks for reading my rant
Bought this to repleace original that was broken. Looked good almost identical to oem. But... Second time i put gas in my sled the shaft with the float was now longer connected to the gas cap itself. Therfore the shaft is now in my tank and only one day with the cap and its broken and worthless.
