Almost a divorce over this one
Dennis Kirk only sells two sets of the Dynojet Jet Kit. The website does not say that one is a stage 7 though. After getting my kit, and learning that the kit is stage 7, there was serious figuring out to do. Apparently calling in to verify the part was not helpful. There is a point where woman's intuition is screaming "hell no" when someone is told your make and model of a Harley and they ask you if that is a Honda over the phone...that should have been clue number one that this was not going to be a dream installation.
Uncertain, both the husband and I are digging in trying to learn about whether this will work or not. Probably not Dennis Kirk's fault for listing this is for the 883 Sportster, the box clearly states it is for it. However, the Dynojet website does not indicate that the part sent was to be used on a Harley. For a Honda, yes. Harley, only by the box. They had nothing on their site to help understand if it was even correct.
After two hours of researching and arguing over the part, that went from inconsistencies of the part to frustration with information from the company that led to corporations failing to give better instructions, or support in this day and age, which one of us is a tech geek or a mechanic and wanting to end our entire life together over improper wording, inconsistent information, who could figure it out, all the way up to government control and regulations along with the unbelievable election year we are having, we finally took a break. Regrouped our marriage, decided that we can work as team, calibrated to work with the upgraded parts and jetted the bike.
Despite the fact that Dynojet is horrid in their wording on their website, Dennis Kirk's website did not state this was a stage 7, and the instructions were the most horribly written instructions in the world ever, we got to successful installation.
I can't give it an awesome review because of the aforementioned, however, will say, after we got it installed with the new hypercharger, cleaning up the carb, and putting in new spark plugs, that the fire up was utterly amazing and riding is a major difference now. Awesome improvement.
