Exhibits exceptional cornering stability, especially at high lean angles, responsive and precise steering characteristics, and predictable, smooth transitional-steering performance and impressive performance in dry conditions as a result of CFT
New tread pattern utilizes Dunlop' s cosecant-curve but with fewer grooves that are longer-track-proven to greatly enhance wet-weather performance
Incorporates MT Multi-Tread technology providing a cool-running, long-wearing compound in the center for long tread life, enhanced straight-line stability and excellent traction, while the sides feature lateral grip compounds to enhance traction at moderate-to-maximum lean angles
The Q3 replaces the hard to follow Q2, but beats it in every category, including price.
I instruct at track days and use the Q3 rear mated to a race front. They never let me down, regardless of the weather, temperature, or wear level.
The Q3 provides tremendous grip and wear characteristics, even at the notoriously abrasive/abusive CMP in SC.
I have also used them on the street with superb results, but I've never NEEDED more grip than the RS2 provides, so I primarily run those on the street for the additional mileage and wet weather traction.
i have a 03 buell XB9S street fighter these tires are excellent/windy roads/sharp turns they handle great. they were very nice to mount using 3 bike spoons and a hand operated tire machine. the balance was dead on at correct valvestem mounting location.
Front Sportmax Q3 120/70ZR-17 Blackwall Tire - 32SM-75
Have ran Dunlop for some years now. Tried a couple others that other riders seemed to like, came back to Dunlop always feels stuck to me.I put the mileage at 3 bars because they are made to stick and will wear faster, but I'm good with that!
The tires were a huge improvement, when i turned they made the bike just lean so much easier into the corners it actually scared me the first few times, i had to learn to ride with the tires for about a day, it was great!!! very good traction on a dry road, wet roads are a little different... while going straight there were no issues, it didn't feel as if i was going to loose traction when i was riding ( there was a lot of rain and water on the road). maybe its just me i dont come close to turning as hard in to corners when its raining. overall a really good tire and i would Certainly buy them again without a doubt.
I absolutely love Q3's. This is my send set and I don't see myself switching anytime soon. They warm up quickly and are pretty sticky. I can't wait to get them on the track to see how they hold up. Definitely recommend these tires.
This is probably the best tire I have had on my bike. They are very sticky when warm. when cold they behave better than most. I also like the tire profile, my bike is one of the heavyiest of its class. Theses Q3's make light work of the weight. They seem to be more round than most. Turns in effortlessly. Works in the rain, but I cannot speak alot about it I only got caught in the rain once since I had the Q3's. Gave me a planted feeling in the wet. Only issue is I only get around 2700 -3400 miles out of them on my hyper velocity X-plane R1.
What an amazing combination of rubber compounds. Heats up very fast, and seems to cycle well for aggressive street riding. However I would prefer a taller/peakier shape like the Michellins. The Dunlop's feel a bit inherently stable, and I prefer a very fast tip in. But for the prices, there is no competition.
I bought a set of these tires expecting longer wear because of the dual compound and reading. Upon actual use, they started cupping bad at like3000 miles and felt very unsure in the curves,,, great tire,,, if you don't ride much. Poor choice if you expect to get a full summer of riding on them.
