I was a little reluctant to put these on my dual sport because I frequently ride it to work. I initially tried some TW,s advertised as a 50/50 on vs off road tire. It was a big compromise both on and off road. Decided to try the dunlops this past year with great results. Hwy traction and performance was comparable to the other tire. Quite a bit more noise as the tire wears in but worth it. Offroad performance has been AWSOME compared to the other. Recommend to anyone who doesn't want to compromise performance when they ride there dual sport off road!
KLR 650. I'm on my third set (WR250R, 1st one). From the tops of mountains in BC to the desert sands of Arizona, my D606's have never once let me down. They grab and go. I do find it hard to break them loose to turn the rear of the bike though. They climb well, They self-clean of mud very well, and I have not had a flat (puncture) yet. Hard to mount due to the stiff side-wall, but the stiff side wall makes a strong tire. I ride mostly off- pavement, and I have travelled Montana, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, BC, and Alberta (Great Divide, BRDR's, etc.) on this model of tire. I continue to buy replacements D606's.
Feels good on the street. A little odd feel when very new. Good grip off road which is 90% of my riding. No tire is going to turn a KLX250 into a KTM but I like these. Mileage wise, I don't wear the knobs down too far before changing out.
This tire is great. Was easy to instal your self. Took about 20 minutes to take the wheel off and change the tire and put it back together. Put a little baby powder in the tire before you put the tube back in works much better.
I bought the Dunlop 606 front and rear for my KLX300R and so far these are really good tires. They are a little harder to install because of the steel bands in them but it's not that hard. They hook up really good both off road and on road. I will definitely be getting another pair when these ones wear out. Thanks to Dennis kirk for the lowest price on these tires also and fast shipping!!! A++++++++++++++
These tires live up to the expectations I had from reading from all the other reviews. My son and I have them on our XR650L’s and just got back from a 370 mile trip through Death Valley. I was originally concerned about the on highway performance but they handled very well in the mountain corners just as if not better than the original stock tires. I was also concerned about them chunking but had no problems at all. Out of the 370 miles about 250 were dirt and 120 pavement. They handled great in rocky, hard and loose pack but just as with any other tire marginal in sand. The only bad thing about the pavement is they throw up rocks and had one hit my son and chipped his tooth but obviously had nothing to do with the brand of tire.
