why is the 404 not recommended for Harley-Davidson motorcycles ?

BEST ANSWER: Why was the 404 Dunlop specifically designed for Harley not recommended for Harley use
This tire is for 74 h rating wich is 827 lbs 130 mph but the bike alone weights 826,7 dry is this tire still good after two people get on and put all liquids in it?
JAMES S on Jan 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, because not all the weight is on just that tire alone. You have 2 tires sharing the weight.. That tire should be fine.
If you run this tire with a tube, what should the tire pressure be kept at? It says 41psi on the tire... but I kept the old tire at 30psi because that's what the bike's manual called for. Which is correct?
A shopper on May 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The pressure cast into the tire sidewall is a MAXIMUM pressure for that tire, regardless of the bike it is installed upon or whether it is run tubless or with a tube. The pressure listed in your manual takes into consideration the weight and use of your specific application. It relates to sidewall loading and contact patch area. In the vast majority of cases, you should always run the pressure listed in your manual whether running a tube or not. The pressure in the manual will always be less than the sidewall-listed MAXIMUM inflation pressure. The only exception relates to running tires on a sidecar equipped bike. Because sidecar rigs do not lean which causes most wear to be limited to the center of the tread areas, pressure on the rear (drive) tire and idler are often run at bit less pressure to increase the contact patch area and spread the wear. However, when doing so you should be mindful of sidewall temperatures by simply feeling the sidewalls with the bare hand during longer rides (less pressure=more sidewall flex=increased heat generation). Although the tire you have purchased is often used as a sidecar idler tire, it most often used as a front tire on bikes such as the Harley Sportster. For best handling and wear in such applications, whether using a tube (i.e. on a spoked wheel) or not (i.e. on a cast wheel) use the pressure listed in your manual.

What is the largest tire I can put on the stock rear rim on my 2009 Honda VTX1300T?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The stock tire is a 170/80-15. We do not recommend going larger than stock. Metzeler does make a 200/70-15 that would fit on the rim, that they list as an upgraded rear tire size for your model.

A shopper on Oct 17, 2019
The owner's manual on my 1982 Kawasaki KZ650 CSR indicates both front and back tires should be run with tubes. Owner comments here indicate some are running this tire with tubes, others tubeless. I'm confused. Should I run this tire with a tube or without? And, if with, where do I get the tube? This site doesn't have any my size.

I ride a heavy bike. Im a large fellow. The handling of these tires is average while the cost is good. However the mileage you receive from it is POOR at BEST!!! My recomendation is to spend a little more money and get a good tire!!!!!!!!

Best tire for the price
I needed a new rear tire, and I searched the web for the best price and deal based on reviews, etc. Dennis Kirk helped me find the right tire for the best price. Having the new tire made a huge improvement in the handling of the bike. The turn-around time on their products is amazing, and their customer service is amazing as well!

Great traction
I love this tire. Cost, quality, performance, I've yet to see a back tire compare to it. It is quiet, and sticks to the pavement like glue in wet and dry conditions. You may find a tire you can get more mileage out of, but when talking about a machine that only has two contact patches keeping you on the road, longevity is my least concern.

A thousand miles in, and I like them
I bought the front and rear D404s for my 26,000 mile 2003 750 ACE. I've put about a thousand miles on it since, and they seem to be every bit of the tire the OE Bridgestones were. I drag the pegs on most sweepers, while accelerating for the interstate, and they feel very confident. Even at the upper end of the bike's range (way beyond the upper end of the legal range) the bike feels completely planted.
