Great price!
This is the tires I keep on my HD 1200l. I always ride two up with my wife and keep my bags full most of the time. I got over 9k on my last rear tire and could have gone up to 10k but wanted a new tire for a trip down to south Fla. I would recommend this tire for service and especially the price from Dennis Kirk.

Where the rubber meets the road
I have been a loyal Dunlop customer since my first case of road rash in 1979. While the Dunlop name needs no introduction, I wasn't aware of Dennis Kirk until a friend recently referred me. I was blown away with my first glimpse of the catalog and I couldn't wait to go shopping. The website is even better with pictures, spec's and reviews of the thousands of products that they carry, and their pricing is unbeatable! Reason enough to add to your favorites, right? Well, it gets better. The customer service and follow up is top shelf! My order was processed and shipped the same day, and it was tracked right to my front door. It seems like customer service is a thing of the past with most companies, but not at Dennis Kirk. This was the easiest, most professional and enjoyable purchase I have made in many years and I will be a customer for many more. Oh yeah, the Dunlops rock and I wouldn't ride on anything else.

Factory bigfootprint
I purchased my '08 Crossbones new, shod with the factory D401 200/55-17. 15 months later with 11,800 miles of med-hard driving it needs to be replaced. Wear-bars indicating replacement with about 90% of rubber still on the edges. Darn those Crossbones footboards.
I am in the process of ordering another one for my 'Bones and one for my wife's Sporty.
I highly recommend this tire if driving on dry roads since I can't comment on the wet handling capabilities, I have only driven on wet roads twice for a total of twenty miles although It seemed to fare well for those few miles.
If I use the front brake as I should, it wouldn't surprise me to get over 15,000 miles on this tire.
For the current pricing on this tire, I would say it is an incredible value.

Best Tire Out There
This is the tire that came stock with my Harley Sporty. I've tried other more expensive brands but they did not last as long or perform any better. Great Traction Wet or Dry, Great Price & Value, plus Very High Mileage, over 12,000 miles on the rear. It's a MUST HAVE.

Can I go with a wider rear tire?
A shopper on Aug 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not much. Get to wide and get fender rub.
best tube to use with this tire ?
A shopper on Apr 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: All tubes are relevantly OK. Keeping in mind the correct size(tube match tire) and the correct valve stem location for the wheel you are installing it on. Most tubes are close to the same quality and rubber thickness. Some are overpriced, some are cheap but will work. Pick one average priced and you won't go wrong!
Is the tire tubeless?
Sonny on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the tire is tubeless if it's mounted on a mag wheel, but if it's mounted to a spoke wheel, you will need a tube.
Will this tire fit on my 1998
fatboy?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit. as long as your bike has the stock 16 x3" rim. and you are mounting it on the rear.
can you use tubes in tubeless tires ?
A shopper on Dec 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You can run a tube in a tubeless tire. You can fit tubeless tyres with tubes, but there are caveats. The first is that the rim has to be an MT-type rim. If it is marked as a WM-type rim you can only fit tubed tyres. If the inside of the tyre is ribbed, that can chafe against the tube, generating heat and wear.
Where are they made? Are they made America or they from another country like Michelins are?
Dozer on Oct 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: USA. But there are better tires out there even if the Dunlop 401 is made here. I just switched to Michelin Commander II because of their increased tread life and improved tread design.
Will this tire fit a 2006 1200 custom sportster?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit, but the stock size for a 2006 is 150/80B-16. We at Dennis Kirk recommend staying with stock tire sizing for maximum performance and safety.
What is difference between the k591 & the k401 tires?
Chris S on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I purchased a D401 not a K401 tire but to save a lot of typing if you go to the Dennis Kirk site and put in tires and the tire number it explains in detail about each tire. I believe the K591 is larger and possibly heavier. Hope this helps and cruise safely and defensively. Keep her on 2 wheels.

A shopper on Oct 22, 2016

Tire 3017-63
I am wanting the thicker tread of a rear tire to use on the front of my 09 Ultra TriGlide. I understand that the tire will need to be mounted reverse direction due to the tread splice. The original tire is a MT90B16 or 130/90B16. I have LED lights mounted inside the fender, and there is little clearance, so the same tire width is critical. Just wanting to confirm that the 130/90 is the same width as the original MT90B?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I do NOT advise doing this tires are meant to be mounted and ran in the direction intended. anything else could result in catastrophic failure of the tire.
