More flexible than described
On a V-Star 1100 all I can say is 2 of these bolted into the baffle's already made holes turn the pipes into a Vance-Hines close clone for sound. Plus the tight compact design lets you lead with pushed in stainless wool deep into the pipes before sliding these in last for even quieter tones. HINT : use a nut and bolt that is long enough to almost reach the other side of the baffle and either use red thread lock or even crazy glue on the nut and bolt on each baffle.
you can also use baffle material cloth to wrap them if you want a larger radius but do not force them in if you wrap ... remove excess wrap until they slide in easily. these will make you content !

No More Flashing Red Lights in the Mirrors !!
Fit perfectly without troble into my custom made pipes. Still snorts pretty good and turns alot of heads yet a respectable tone to get a thumbs up from law enforcement. The price and fast shipment sealed Dennis Kirk's site on my favorites list.

just purchased these baffles, and they are exactly what I was looking for since I am making my own custom exhaust for my harley. Havent had a chance to hear the difference in sound yet with or without them installed, but just wanted them so I would be legal... and for the price you cant go wrong

Put it inside a custom pipe I made for a Yamaha Bolt. Pipe diameter was 1 7/8" and the baffle fit with a little room around it. Worked like a charm.

Diameter?for what diameter pipe ?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The catalog item states "O.D. on Back: 1 5/8 in." . That is the larger dim on the baffle. Has been a few months since I installed them but think my muffler exit was 1 5/8" or 1 3/4". Was going to install them at the front of my mufflers but they fit perfectly in the back end so didn't have to mess with length. Sound still has some rumble but took much of the 'crack' out of the tone which helped considerably. Worth the price.
Does it matter which way the baffle is installed ? should the flange be installed facing the engine or facing the end of the pipe ? Thanks
Chris R on Aug 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The flange should face the rear of the muffler. My mufflers were pre-drilled with the holes at the rear. I gently worked the baffle into the muffler taking care to align the slot in the baffle with the hole in the muffler. Once the baffle was in all the way as far as it would go, I applied pressure to the rear of the baffle to ensure a snug fit as I tightened the bolt that holds the baffle in place. The slots are pretty long, I'm guessing so the baffles work with a variety of mufflers and is a nice feature. These baffles work perfectly for my HD Road King and in my opinion are an excellent value.
Are the baffel's single or set ?
A shopper on Oct 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They are sold singly and worth every penny .... I bought these for my 1100 cc V Star Yamaha that had some type of awful raspy 'Laker style' glasspac type exhausts .... these are only about 1" in diameter so I was worried at first installing them inside the 3.5" mouth of each twin pipe .... made my V Star sound rear close to having a set of $500 Vance and Hines ! .... If your dreams fall apart, you are out a mere $20 bill all told ....
I opened my exust make louder now it has some back fire would this elemanate that ?
Kim s on Jan 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probably was doing it before you put the pipes but didn't realize due to quiet exhaust. Would be better to have carbs adjusted (If you have carbs)
