Fit and finish were perfect! Arrived quickly too. This jiffy stand extension is just what I needed! Not sure why Harley made the jiffy stand position so hard to get to(?) but this extension makes finding it with my boot heel a breeze! Should have pulled the trigger on this item years ago!
I have a Dyna Switchback. I can't imagine who designed where the kickstand went, but is in the most inaccessible area, right behind the bell housing and not long enough for me to comfortably reach without some foot contortion. I read one suggestion that you have to learn to use the toe of your boot rather than your heel. Yeah, My toes aren't that long. Harley charges over twice this price and it's the same quality. It is well made, chrome finish is great, easy to install didn't take five minutes. Now the kickstand can be easily accessed, like it should have been in original design. Highly recommend this product.
Installed on 2009 HD Superglide. Did not require drilling as said in description for this bike. It bolts over the loop on the end of kickstand and you can adjust up or down the length of the loop as far as you like. Makes it much easier to hit kickstand on first try. Looks like it belongs on bike and should have been made that way from factory. It was very hard to reach kickstand before I added this. Nice product and well made! picture shows extension slid in all the way.
Unless I've installed this piece incorrectly (and it can only be installed in two ways - on top of the sidestand, or underneath) it's utility is marginal. It's not much easier to get a toe behind the sidestand with this installed, and I dragged the end of it on a couple of left-hand turns. It LOOKS like it should work better than it actually does, and maybe I'm just not used to it, but if it keeps touching down on relatively slow left turns I'll probably end up taking it off. I will say I liked the looks of it better than the others out there, and it was the least expensive. Nice finish, easy installation. Maybe on my particular model, an '09 Low Rider, it's not working as well as it might on others.
No, but it installs differently than I expected. I first tried installing it at a 90 degree angle, which the bracket seems to dictate. It fit best in the 9 o'clock position but would scrape on the pavement going around left-hand corners. After grinding off a bit of metal, I figured this couldn't be right, so I installed it as you see in the picture with the end tab up. If you install it with the end tab down, the flat side of the tab end lies flat on the pavement, which wouid seem to be the correct position, but the tab scraped across my lower belt cover and swingarm, so I flipped it over into the position you see in the stock photo. It works pretty good. I'd probably rate it a 3 or 4 out of 5. I think they should have some installation instructions for it.
